If you want to make an average on 20 bars, then 20 bars must be present in your chart. It’s a basic understanding of a simple math formula.
In fact, there is no problem, Etienne raises a point of doubt, but that exists according to his point of view, not according to a method of mathematical calculation. If no data exists, then it should not be counted, as simple as that. For this reason, on many other platforms, when no data is sent from the market, no candlesticks are drawn. On PRT, we still decide to advance the time on the scale, but we do not plot the candlestick.
One must resonate as a real candlestick, and not as a passing time when considering a calculation over a given period. This is the conclusion of the “problem” raised by Etienne.
