Hi GraHal,
FYI, I’ll try your idea next week like letting the bot taking the position in 1mn TF BUT managing the exit on a 10 sec. TF (or approx) manually… Could be highly stressful, woohoo !
Attach is the desktop for this…
Thx.
05/27/2017 at 5:02 PM #36791And also, bots doesn’t perform well all the time…
Bots need volatility and a clean trend if possible (at least mine…) …
Vol and Trend are created by News…
So today, i had a bright idea (i think so… but not proven yet…;) to twick the bots…
The twick consist of: Duplicating the original bot, and setting up this second version ONLY for the window of the High volatility expected : http://www.fxstreet.fr/economic-calendar/
right… cannot / error msg…
Ok… I’ll check this later…
thx.
05/28/2017 at 6:25 AM #36817“Draghi bot” for Monday ready ! windows of action – 12:00 to 14:00…TF 1mn – makes it 120 candlestick to play with. Could be 13:00 to 14:00 but I do expect that the market is often proactive and can easily anticipate this kind of news…the strategy will be trigger once the osc. will be above or below the threshold (long / Short) … Let’s see.
05/28/2017 at 10:10 AM #36828Does your Bot and / or manual intervention strategy allow for price to shoot up then down past where it was before the announcement or down then up (indecision or most likely market manipulation)?
When it’s somebody speaking I have seen price go wild in the first few seconds at the start … clearly nothing has been said in the first few seconds (except introductions) … market / price manipulation?
I’d give it a go with manual trades, but I’m stuck with a few that went wrong last week so I am extra cautious until I get my money back! 🙂
Let us know how you get on?
GraHal

And the window should be at the time of the new (- 1 candlestick prior) up to … 60 candlesticks ??? no idea really.
05/29/2017 at 9:38 PM #36975Well done! Experience gained and you still came out on top!
Why not set up manual trades as below? You can set up OCO Trades … One cancels the other… not sure if it mentions this in below?

06/01/2017 at 4:30 PM #37241Hi GraHal,
I had time this afternoon to manage the exits of the bot myself, as you said: 1mn TF for the bot and couple of sec. to manage the exits…In a Dax trading range situation this afternoon, it is not bad I suppose…The -41EUR loss is cause by my the bot …
I’ll try again soon cause I think there is potential !!
Cheers.

07/12/2017 at 11:07 AM #40433Hey Inertia how’s it going, I sincerely hope your account is not blown up!?
Mine took a battering by being on the wrong side (+ ‘aggressive lot size’ 🙁 ) of the recent big DAX drop (10 days or so ago?). I’m ‘alive to fight again’, but I’ve gone all cautious until I make the loss back!
You still on short TF Bots? I read back over this whole Thread and we had quite a bit / thoughts / ideas going on?
Maybe, with the code / discussions, this Thread would have got more contributors had it been in the Pro-Order Support Forum? Wing added good insight and we thank him for that!
I’ve come to a conclusion re short term Bots (same applies to all TFs?) … so using X TF to explain
TF X Bot retains an Open position after Price has gone through several X TF cycles … up, down / down, up. The Bot was in profit, but then a loss, then a profit, then a bigger loss … etc but eventually on a long term backtest overall the Strategy makes a good profit over many trades.
In my opinion the above code / Strategy is not ‘tuned’ to the X TF Cycle, but is ‘running in hope’ and only makes profit due to a long term trend pulling it out of the s**t.
Anyone thoughts / comments appreciated.
GraHal07/15/2017 at 8:00 PM #40744Hi Grahal,
Thank you for your message.
I thought I was smarter than the Bot but looking at the first 125 trades…It is obviously not the case 🙂
So I let the (rescue) Bot managing my account. As a lesson, I can say that I am not a manual trader => I was extremely fast in taking profits and slow to cut the positions hoping, and hoping …
Let’s drop this strategy cause it is not well coded…
Sorry for your losses
Thx,
