Anyone in Australia uses ProRealTime free account regularly?
It is so slow that most of the time the timeout will prevent the tool from starting, and downloading an upgrade also stops with very little progress. I am getting 15Kbs/s to download an upgrade.
I have no issues with any other sites or downloading data from any other site.
I tried different computers and have exactly the same issue. It has been like that for several weeks now.
Does anyone have any pointers on how to troubleshoot where the problem actually is?
Thanks
Mariusz

I suppose the roundtrip latency could be an issue here (the servers residing in France 20,000 Km away). But it depends a bit on how everything is organised within PRT.
I take it that you use IBKR for broker (well, with the free account you may not be using anything for real). That assumed, I think you are using Trader Workstation in parallel, am I right ? If so, do you see good responses in their main charts ? See below for a hint.
So if that works better for updating the data fields than PRT once it has been started, then PRT development may know what to work on.It is so slow that most of the time the timeout will prevent the tool from starting
You realize that once PRT has been initialised for starting up, the message telling you that it may have failed is only a message popping up after 15 or so seconds, but that waiting may (will ?) do the job after all ? clicking the message (like trying Java etc.) will abort the startup process.
I myself have a PC somewhere (which IMO is in good shape) where the startup takes over 5 minutes. Why ? beats me. But after the platform has been started, all is fine for responses.Hope this helps a little ?
Peter08/21/2021 at 3:48 AM #175827I am using Trader Workstation and I do realise that the first message pop up is a warning.
I just let that go and await until charts pop up, but lately, i get an error messages after several minutes that is final and the session terminates.
08/21/2021 at 8:46 AM #175831Have you advised PRT direct using their Form below?
You can describe the problem briefly on the Form, but also refer them to this Topic as it may help PRT to diagnose the source of the problem due to the additional information / suggestions added.

Below is the method I use for Chrome …

09/23/2021 at 5:58 AM #178139So all was going swimmingly until an outage yesterday (ASX Cash timeframe) with PRT and since then we’re now capped to something close to ~30k bars in 1sec int Australia Cash 200., could be lingering outage issues, housekeeping. The DAX30(now 40) however seems worse for wear. Was a rock before then.
It looks to only be affecting 1sec ints. and duplicating another chart from another period, say 5min, may recreate the charts correctly when 1sec is selected as the new period however shortly afterwards it redraws to ~30k bars.

It could be your ISP and / or how and if you’ve tweaked MS tcp stack, assuming you’re a Windows user.
15kb/s is ridiculously slow.
What does a std ookla speedtest to an OS speedtest server?
Are all speeds bad OS?
A quick test from SA returned 80mbit to Paris fdcservers.
Start there and see how you go.
