About your strategy, I see you are using our home-made grid code for orders pyramid? or maybe I’m wrong 🙂
08/02/2016 at 8:42 PM #11146Yes i have had the same problem with one of my strategies running on IG demo
the strange thing is that i had 2 strategies with the same indicators and the same logic, one for the long side and one for the short side and its only the long one that did get stopped with this message
i dont use them anymore, maybe it was something wrong with the code after all but i dont think so
everything else works fine

I have currently got it set to ‘close all Trades’, but I always read it as if the Strategy / Bot is stopped (not losing connection as in losing internet connection).
But yes if the internet connection was dropped at a critical point?
I have emailed IG anyway, but I’ll change that setting in the meantime.
Thanks

08/03/2016 at 11:49 AM #11168Yes G –
Just checked as I have my platform open …
It’s under
At the top of the PRT – Trading – ProOrder AutoTrading.
Click on this – box will open – Top Right of that panel – Preferences.
That will open a new panel & on the left hand side toggle box – Remain Open.
08/03/2016 at 4:56 PM #11174Answer from IG below.
This has happened to me a few times in the past on Demo say, every few weeks, but at least it sounds like it will not happen under Live Trading.
I’m sorry to hear about this issue you experienced, I have followed up on this with our technical teams and I have been informed that there were some tests being performed in our DEMO evironment around the time that would have affected one or more of our services and caused to strategy to stop as our server was not able to communicate back to the strategy.
This is a very rare occurrence but can occur when are making updates or running tests in our demo environment, as it is a demonstration environment rather than a paper-trading replica of the live environment.
This is of course something that we do not replicate in our live environment whereby we use planned sessions of maintenance and downtime to implement tests and upgrades.

08/03/2016 at 6:32 PM #11175Hi GraHal. Happy that you sorted it out with IG, because it should not be due to loss of internet connection. The setting to stop ProOrder are if the code has an error, or was rejected, positions was closed manually etc etc.. The ProOrder code is running on far end servers and will continue running when you close PRT or your computer, but I think you know that 🙂
Cheers

08/05/2016 at 3:15 PM #1124501/17/2017 at 2:24 PM #21454I have been getting this same message and did some testing and tried to run a strategy that was showing as ‘phone orders only’ on IG and got this error message but no warning triangles in the order history showing that anything had ‘gone wrong’ so I think this could be one cause of the message
Also I ‘think’ the same happens if a stock is/becomes unborrowable (cannot short) at IG
Not sure why the outcome (re: phone orders only for a period of time) should have to be the closing of position/strategy stopping though… 🙁
01/18/2017 at 4:38 PM #21592Thank you @Max for this investigation … good work!
Unborrowable and phone orders only would result in IG choosing when / what price they want to accept orders. So I guess IG also cease any means of placing orders outside of IG direct control so they close Algos at the point of making an Order on the particular instrument which is phone orders only??
Thanks again
GraHal11/16/2017 at 8:40 PM #53056for me all balls !!! IG does not execute orders;
I have a universal strategy with 86/90% of profit (from backtest) positions, without stop or profit, it works with currencies, indexes, shares, etc. center the first but then begins to put orders waiting and the strategy goes to be blessed ……… strangely this happens almost always to winning strategies, who knows why on losing strategies accepts all orders
The problem will never answer, or they will answer in a thousand different ways, from the lack of data reception, network problems or similar things and surely they have already been assassinated in the contract ….
is there anyone who shares this thought?
…… Probably I think it is a great product

02/18/2020 at 10:23 AM #119820I’ve had > 10 instances of Systems being stopped for the attached Rejection message in the last 2 days ,,, so thought I’d resurrect this old Topic of mine.
strangely this happens almost always to winning strategies, who knows why on losing strategies accepts all orders
As it happens … one System stopped (reason attached) is currently in profit by £5.8K, but it has now taken a trade since I restarted it.
