Hi, time zone = UK
That may be where we differ….maybe why results are different also?¡
The guy who started the thread and asked if his scenario could be coded was from the UK and his timing was the UK also. So the code I wrote for PRT set the UK timings
If people are from different countries PRT is set to domain timings then none of the back tests will be the same!!!!

Great call phoentzs this will be why everyone’s testing is different. I am currently in Spain but have my PRT calendar set in UK time as I like to trade the FTSE and have all my algo’s based on this time zone.
I think we should all specify what timezone bench we are using when posting codes so we can ensure we are all testing using the same point of reference.
11/11/2021 at 8:40 AM #181426The strategy is a break put of 8:00, not 9 am! We are discussing the 8:00 breakout using the 7am to 8am timeframe, and not the 8am to 9am as you have!
yr right, but i´m a german IG user and our timezone is diffrent as yours. You have to change the times in that strategy into yr local time.

It IS CRITICAL the timing is correct (correct country time) when using a specific breakout time, sorry but anyone that cannot see this should not be commenting and writing algo’s based on exact timing!
Sorry if this is a little direct but it needs stamping out FAST. We don’t want new users getting miss-information

Hahaha, did you see what I wrote ?
It was quite all right, but not in the context of the current subject, I saw in aftermath.11/11/2021 at 9:20 AM #18143011/11/2021 at 9:51 AM #18143211/11/2021 at 9:54 AM #181433A losing trade today until now?
Yes.

I think you are right on stop size and my own strategy does accommodate for this! I also use differing parameters. However, I already include a little poetic license on the spec and question from murre87 (Who now seems to have left the thread having asked the question!)
murre87 spec as follows:
———————————————–
Breakout of the DAX index
- Observe DAX pre-market from 7am until 07.59am.
- Mark the high and the low of those 59 minutes of trading.
- Place a BUY order at the high of the 59 minutes observation period.
- Place a SELL SHORT order at the low of the 59 minutes observation period.
- This obviously needs to be done in the minute before the market opens. You need to be quick.
- You risk 9 points.
- Your target is to make 6 points. If one order is filled, I cancel the other. Some do not. I do.
