a tool like StrategyQuant and Quant Analyser?
SQ already create strategies for TradeStation, if you choose a research based on open bar only orders, the generated codes can be easily translated into PRT.
About QuantAnalyzer, if someone has free time to create a tool to convert PRT report into a MT4 one, it could be possible to import them into QA and generate some colorful reports 🙂
01/18/2018 at 10:10 AM #59785Rather than have a Demo platform and a Live platform it would be better to have just one platform in which you can switch from Live to Demo (maybe via a large switch on the top bar?). All the windows border colours could be clearly different for each mode so that it is easy to see what mode you are working in. This would be an improvement on the current situation where we have to open two platforms and the two look almost identical so it can be quite confusing.
In the new one platform for both modes when strategies are set to run live a further confirmation question could be asked as to whether the user wants to run them in Demo or Live. This way the maximum number of strategies running live limit could be divided between either Demo or Live however the user wished. This would in fact reduce the maximum potential demand on PRT servers. For example I currently have 100 live and 25 demo but would like 100 demo and 25 live! I would be happier with 100 that I can divide however I so wish and PRT would reduce their server demand. The list of running strategies could be colour coded and divided into two clear sections so the user can easily check how both their live and demo strategies are performing without having to have two resource heavy platforms running.
There would also be the added benefit that user’s indicators and strategies could all be accessed from one location without having to export from one platform and then import into another which is a tiresome pain.
This two modes in one platform would remove the demand on PRT to maintain the very unreliable demo platform and it could be re-named Beta and used purely as a test best and information gathering version of PRT for those interested in helping to develop new features.

01/19/2018 at 12:31 PM #59880It’s annoying enough having to stop and start Strategies individually / one at a time. but it’s doubly annoying when the Auto-Trading Strategy Window (where running Strats are listed) shoots back up to the top every time I start a single Strategy!?
I then have to scroll back down to where I was trying to start all the other Srats and then shoot back up to the top again and then scroll back down again … etc.
I can’t even think of a useful reason to want to go to the top after starting a Strat running, except maybe to confirm it has appeared at the top??
There’s so many annoying little faffing things we have to do on the PRT Platform? It’s like as if the User / Tester Group don’t use it for aggresive trading / many Strats running etc and so they don’t experience the repetitive faffing about??

01/19/2018 at 12:35 PM #5988101/19/2018 at 4:27 PM #59904I think PRT should include some of us in their Testing group to help identify and provide solutions.
They do. Every time we start up PRT we are testing it for them and every time we post a suggestion on here we are giving feed back and identifying problems for them. After that our work for PRT is finished and it is over to them to actually do their bit…..
01/19/2018 at 4:48 PM #59905So why do I feel less like a Tester and more like a Mushroom!? (kept in the dark and fed on sh*t! 🙂).
The Auto-Trading Window is like a relic from the past? There are so many ways it could be / needs to be improved. I have made several suggestions re the Auto-Trade Window direct to PRT via their on-site Suggestions / Contact Form going back over 12 months. There have been some changes … e.g. past performance is now retained when you stop / start a Strat.
But why didn’t PRT sort a few other simple improvements at the same time … or better still communicate to users via an on-site Road Map that the whole Auto-Trading Window is being completely revamped right at this very moment!!?? Yeahhh Riiiggghhtt! 🙂

01/26/2018 at 11:02 AM #60580Enable PRT to pull in and work with all available data for an instrument from IG such as but not limited too;
- BUY/SELL PRICE
- SPREAD
- MINIMUM STOP DISTANCE
- MINIMUM ORDER SIZE (BONUS – ALLOW ORDER SIZE<1 !)
- ALL AND ANY OTHER AVAILABLE DATA (SLIPPAGE etc.)
Many thanks Max
Hi everybody,
It was suggested since the very beggining of this thread (see above), but do we know if PRT is actually thinking of letting us extract very useful info on any given stock? I would love to be able – at the very least – to programmatically identify the spread of any given stock in a screener, to isolate those which are not tradable at all (too wide a spread). This would save me a lot of time !
I asked the question via the platform (can we pull in the spread ?) and all I got after three days was a lousy : “After verification, I can confirm that it’s not doable” 🙁
Best,
B
02/23/2018 at 10:34 AM #63635I just sent below in to PRT direct via email …
Hello
It would be fantastic if comments entered in the Alert box could form part of the verbal message sound.
Example could be …
Enter Long (standard) + Wall Street (my comment) = Enter Long Wall Street
Hope above makes sense. If you need more info just say.

02/23/2018 at 12:06 PM #63654You can use custom sound in WAV file format if you like, but they will be used for every order on any given instrument .. With a free “text to speech” website: http://www.text2speech.org/ , you will be able to make prorealtime tell you everything you want! 🙂

02/23/2018 at 11:31 PM #63766Thanks for that Nicolas, I figured I could record my own etc, but if PRT had a text to speech converter operating on the comments in the box then it be loads more convenient and also a bit of a gimmick!? 🙂
Yesterday I exceeded the max number of alerts (40) and had to cancel some to get more room!!! I (and the family!) get fed up of the same old words and voices.
I use ‘David’ for Live and ‘Julia’ for Demo else it be even more of a nightmare! 🙂
Cheers
GraHal03/17/2018 at 3:36 PM #65503New functions, similar to DATE and TIME, that return the date and time a strategy is launched/run:
12RunTime/LaunchTimeRunDate/LaunchDate03/22/2018 at 8:18 PM #66118It would be great if along with multi-instrument support it would be implemented the possibility for a strategy running on a future to roll over to the next contract at expiry. Right now there is no possibility to accomplish that. If you run a strategy on a future and the contract expires one can only choose to either roll over the trade manually (what will stop the strategy) or simply close the trade.
03/22/2018 at 8:26 PM #66119I would like to see a new variable implemented that gives the minimum stop distance. This seems to necessary because IG changes the this distance for example when the expected volatility is high. Having a possibility to retrieve the current minimum stop distance would enable a strategy to adapt to it and avoid that the strategy is stopped because of trying to place an order too close to the current market level.

03/31/2018 at 7:17 PM #66877It would be great if ProOrder Auto Trading Systems window could display the number of trades and win/loss percentage alongside the total gain/loss in this window.
This whole window could be so much more useful if information were shown in sortable columns and then lots of useful data could be shown and used for analysis.
As the window is currently laid out, it is more frustrating than it is useful.
