Channels drawn in day chart are shifting in inferior time-frames. This happens only at the time of logging in. Then if the channel is selected to show only in day chart, it removes the channel from inferior time-frame. Then selecting the option to display channels in the inferior time-frame shows it correctly in inferior time frames.
But again at the next log in, channels show up incorrectly in inferior time-frames. Then the above exercise has to be repeated to resolve the issue at every single logging in. Would like to know the remedy of this issue.

Use a screen capture app to save the screenshot as a PNG file (or similar image format) and then attach that to your post.
04/11/2021 at 8:30 PM #166790Vonasi – As advised, I have attached 4h chart where you can clearly see the channel has been shifted as stated in my original thread. This happens only at the time of logging in.
To fix this, I have to select the channel – change the setting to “object timeframe only” or “use platform settings”, which removes the channel from inferior time-frames. Then I change the option back to “show in inferior time-frames” this then redraws the channel correctly in inferior time-frames. The second chart shows a correctly redrawn channel (I have done this exercise for only one channel in this case just to give an example. But this is happening with all drawn channels).
I would really appreciate help on this because I am having to do this exercise at every login to fix every drawn channel.

But my question is why the channel automatically shifts after the logout. Once I login and fix the channel as described above in my earlier post, it shows correctly in inferior time-frame. So, when I am logging out the settings are same. But then what changes between logout and login? Why PRT cannot show channel in the same position when I log back in because settings are not changing?
As you can understand it is very difficult to have to fix all channels at every single logging in. And I wonder whether others are facing this issue or not? And if not, what is the fix?

I take it you are exiting / Logging out using … File > Quit > Save and Exit?
04/13/2021 at 6:44 PM #166976Actually while logged in and as I add trendlines etc. or change any such things on charts during the session, I also periodically use “save my template” from “my template” icon.
Then at the time of logging out I exit with – File > Quit > Save and Exit.
So, I that’s why I couldn’t figure out why channels appear shifted again when I log back in. Shouldn’t PRT be saving everything just as it is at the time of logout.
04/13/2021 at 6:59 PM #166977And actually, in some cases, when I do the exercise I mentioned in the very first post (i.e. change the setting to “object timeframe only” or “use platform settings”, which removes the channel from inferior time-frames. Then I change the option back to “show in inferior time-frames” this then redraws the channel correctly in inferior time-frames), it also redraws the channel correctly in the 1-D chart also. So, in some cases I can see channel getting redrawn properly not just in inferior time-frame but in 1-D chart also.

I agree.
I suggest you send the webform below direct to PRT and include a link to this Topic and then you only need to briefly describe the problem on the webform. Please let us know what PRT say.

04/13/2021 at 7:27 PM #16698004/13/2021 at 7:36 PM #166981I draw trendlines lots on short timeframes (5 min to 1 hour), but I tend not to check them at next login as price action has moved on so much that yesterdays trendlines are usually not relevant anymore? 🙂
I will draw a channel now on a 4 hour TF (as you show above) and let you know tomorrow if the channel has shifted.
04/13/2021 at 7:50 PM #166982Actually, I draw them on 1-D chart and then select the option to show on inferior time-frames. I just chose 4-h chart above because it offers a more clear view of the issue.
Try channel, not trendline though, because that’s where I am facing this issue. So, we can have apples to apples comparison.
As you said, if you use trendlines on smaller timeframes then yes they will probably lose relevance quickly, but in my experience, the channels on 1-D chart are useful for quite some time in near to medium term, and so I prefer to have these on the inferior time-frames where I have seen supports/resistances are respected with higher probability.
