Hi there
Nice meeting you all. I am new here. And using PRT now for about 5 weeks.
Might be a stupid question but is it possible to copy trades directly to MT4?
So what i mean is, When execute a trade manually or automatically in PRT then also open same trade in MT4 account?
Regards
06/16/2021 at 9:25 PM #171906No, PRT does not support copy trading.

Assuming you are with IG then when a trade is opened on PRT it will also show as a trade opened on the IG Platform so you may want to explore if the trade can be copied to MT4 from the IG Platform.
You may get an answer if you post on the IG Forum. Let us know the outcome please.

As far as I know that is not possible.
The platforms are 2 different enviroments hence MT4 does not communicate with there online platform
But we can always ask them…
06/30/2021 at 11:54 AM #172802No, PRT does not support copy trading.
Not to mention 2 different plateforms, why PRT didn’t choose to develop a copy trading feature ?
06/30/2021 at 12:16 PM #17280306/30/2021 at 12:16 PM #172804I have no idea… you should suggest it to PRT.

we can see this way for the spread.. , for example with the IG Bitcoin spread … no comment….. In this case, it would be good to do a copy trade from a manual trade or for an automatic trade
IG -> Binance
making a crypto bot with IG is just illusory because of the spread..
but the first idea is to do a pure copy trade. Identical trade done on another person’s account with the same broker. A bit like etoro system.
I don’t know what are the good or bad improvements but i’m happy if PRT took a ticket from you… 🙂
02/02/2022 at 7:42 PM #187397What do you see as the advantage of copying a trade from one platform to another … same trade copied, same outcome?
Only benefit could be a lower spread on another platform with another broker?
The benefit I see is that with so many prop firms out there (that all use MT4 as standard) you could actually trade several accounts at once & not have to mess around with MT4

11/09/2023 at 9:12 PM #223460I have been struggling with this to. I have developed algorithms that are work well on PRT and I’ve tried to translate them to MQL5 to trade in MT5. I would like to trade for prop firms using my algorithms but they are to fast to manually copy trades to MT5. There are no prop firms that allow the use of PRT. I am not sure why. Perhaps PRT is not very popular. MT5 coding is not really user friendly and after spending hours of debugging it just doesn’t work because my PRT codes are not straightforward to just translate. I am also using ig.com as a broker. Would love to see if there is a solution to this soon.
11/11/2023 at 10:12 AM #223521Copy trading is used a lot in the context of prop firms, especially those applying very severe drawdown restrictions. One of the most used platforms here is NinjaTrader, and for copy trading between NinjaTrader accounts they use the tool Rythmic. PRT is no option in this ecosystem.
If you want to migrate from PRT, with its BASIC-like languages, to MT5, with its Object Oriented languages, there are mainly 2 options. Number 1 is MQL5, a powerful language, but not easy to learn. Number 2 is Python. MT5 has a well documented Python-interface. And the Python ecosystem has a couple of well filled libraries specifically for the financial markets (indicators, functions). I started with Number 1, was getting there slowly. But recently I did an exercise with Number 2, and I think the “getting there” will go a lot faster.2 users thanked author for this post.
11/11/2023 at 11:26 AM #223525I would like to trade for prop firms
Does above mean you want to work for prop firms?
I am still intrigued … why such a strong desire for copy trading?
- Have you got several very good performing Algos on PRT that you want to convert and then use to generate trades copied onto a prop firm platform?
2. Or do you want to run your own etoro-type of set up?
3. If you just want to make more money … why not just increase your position size on IG (with your good performing Algos)?
Above is just me being nosey, I’m not criticising your desires.
