No one is working trying to convert the strategy on higher timeframes? Maybe we can share ideas i would like to support it, it seems very interesting but i think will never put on live a strategy with 1 sec
You have to remember that Renko doesn’t have a time component to it, only price and direction, no matter how long it takes to reach that price, similar to Point and Figure. One advantage of a 1 sec TF is that the trailing stop doesn’t have to wait to the end of a long candle before kicking in so you can get in and out very quickly.

03/17/2020 at 3:28 PM #12235603/17/2020 at 4:08 PM #122362Here’s an MTF variation, boxsize 24 running 0400 to 2300 but with a Hull MA on 10 second TF … seems to show some improvement but hard to tell with such a short back test. I also tried adding a momentum filter and stochasticRSI but this is the only thing that helped (i think). The best box size changes day by day…
Position size = 1€

03/17/2020 at 5:24 PM #122366I’m using last Paul’s version. Started this morning and stopped opening positions at 11:57Am don’t know why. No errors message, it shows that the system is still running but doesn’t do anything.
It’s not also a problem of maximum daily orders, i’ve set it up to 1k.
What it can be?

123once periodr = 1 //0all;1day;2week;3month;4yearonce maxprofit = 100 //set high to make it useless, or to i.e. 2 %once maxloss = 1 //set high to make it useless, or to i.e. 2 % (long & short each)1 user thanked author for this post.
03/17/2020 at 6:16 PM #122370Also, my results till 11:57 on demo were so much worse from what backtest shows to me in the same time range.
I guess it’s a point already discussed in the topic. Any solution?
Thanks Paul you’re always clear.
Any advice for this issue?
I’m using the strategy on Wall Street Cash (1€), maybe i should use it on Wall Street Cash (2$)?
03/17/2020 at 7:10 PM #122372The DOW presently has a spread of 9.6, not sure how long that’s been the case but it makes it almost impossible for these 1 second algos to turn a profit. I’m running 3 of them, all heavy losses today. 😒

Now there’s an idea … anybody ever done any work on coding no Trades when spread (Buy price – Sell Price) is > what IG publish as normal for respective time periods?

Now there’s a man who’s thinking.
Personally I find it criminal that IG can change how the game is played on a whim with no announcement, no warning. How can you advertise that the spread will be 1.6 and then put it up to 9.6? People with live algos on real money could take big losses. Margin requirements have been bouncing up and down as well, way above normal.
Now they’ve brought it down to 8.6.
