do I need a new computer to get faster optimizations?

Since upgrading to Premium, trying to optimize thousands of permutations @ 200k has become painfully slow. My desktop is about 8 years old (i7-3770, 3.4ghz, 8gb RAM). Would a faster processor help? or is there a bottleneck at the PRT server?

Internet speed is not really a matter for backtests speed, as the bandwidth is mainly used to receive quote on your own computer.

Your code is held in the cloud and the quotes are on PRT servers. Therefore the platform is only used to display the received results of backtests graphically.
