This has been going on for many months / too long and it is a near essential requirement … the Drawdown figure does not show after running a BackTest. Occasionally it does show, but mostly it does NOT!
I know it’s not just on my Platform. Does anybody have a work around, for example … clear cache, only have one platform open, close all other Apps and browser tabs etc etc … all of which would be a pain to do of course and would lower productivity.
It almost seems that PRT is grinding to a stop / falling over in some areas? It would be good to know that PRT Developers are ‘fixing Issues that drive us nuts’ rather than ‘nice to haves they think of in scrum meetings’.
It be great if PRT published a Development Road Map … they must work to some plan?

The backtest result statistics are mediocre at best:
– How about providing a whole set of risk indicators instead of two, which are not explained in the manual? (Max risk and exposure)
– How about providing all 10.000 optimization results? How about adding DD and other risk measures?
– How about providing filtering backtest results for standard criteria like day of week?
– How about providing position sizing and money Management KPIs?
Ahh…forget it. All I really need (!) is multi-timeframe and intermarket analysis.
Good luck to the PRT team. Competition is fierce. And thanks to both PRT and my broker for providing free data.
Have a nice weekend!

03/18/2017 at 7:25 PM #29035Yes I agree.
In these times of rant- and for a good reason- it would be advisable for PRT to provide feedback and status.
It would keep things constructive.
I can say for my self that I’m not trading actively with IG before these thing are in place.
Cheers Kasper

03/19/2017 at 2:34 PM #2906503/19/2017 at 10:19 PM #29103Mmm I got excited then, I deleted all java files as per the video, then exited the PRT Platform and back in again then checked the Detailed Report then … got deflated as no Drawdown figures … then as I’m writing this I got excited again cos in my right eye (on my ‘Test Monitor’ :)) something moved and YES the Drawdown populated!
Just tried it again on 100,000 Units … DD populated again! It takes a few seconds, but I can live with that no problem.
YEEESSS thank you Eric.
Apologies PRT Developers!
So that’s it guys follow instructions in the video link … thanks to Eric!

PS If we don’t make a change Today then Tomorrow will be the same as Yesterday … I’ll put a suggestion up that PRT add a Note under DD Figure saying ‘If Drawdown not populated then Delete Java Cache’.

Could you please send me more info the next time you get this issue? @ my mail or with the contact form, a screenshot and your account number? and at the same time send your console directly to PRT. Thanks in advance.03/20/2017 at 9:15 PM #29239Yes sure Nicolas, but the ‘clear java cache’ (as above) fixed it for me.
Do you / PRT not expect that it would / should have fixed it??
Fix by clear java cache maybe accounts for why (now and again) DD figures did populate for me because I do clear cache, history, cookies, everything … but I hadn’t linked my ‘clear down action’ to then DD figures showing.
Cheers
