Hello, I would like to create an intraday filter to prevent my robots from taking new buying positions when it encounters englobantes/outside bar :

    – If the top of a daily candle is higher than a bollinger band and then the price drops below the bottom of the previous daily candle, algos should not take any more purchases as long as :

    1. There was no hourly closing above the bottom of the previous daily candle (in case of a false break)

    2. There was no bullish cross of the hourly sma7 (in case of a real break)

Thank you for your help 🙂

@nicolas, @robertogozzi and @vonasi, do you know how to create this filter ? 😀

    @Soyouzzz1

do not use @ with userID’s, unless really necessary. Urging a reply or attention is NOT a necessary question. All the three persons you addressed ALWAYS read ALL posts, sometimes they reply, sometimes they don’t because they either do not know the topic well or have no time to reply.

Do not urge a reply after just a few hours from your post! It may take a few hours to get a reply, or a few days or a couple of weeks at times. Be patient.

    Thank you 🙂

Okay, thanks for your help. I hope this time I don’t have to wait 2 months for an answer(which I still haven’t gotten).

I am sorry to hear that the service that is provided by volunteers and other members of the general public for free in their own spare time does not exactly meet your expected standards of service. Please click on ‘Help’ and then ‘I want to complain’ to chat with one of our customer support assistants and they will ensure that your complaint regarding poor service is investigated and any appropriate action taken. If the volunteers and other general members of the public are found to have given poor service voluntarily in their own spare time then they will be asked to punish themselves voluntarily in their own spare time.

Please don’t hesitate to report any further future sub standard service by volunteers or members of the general public given for free in their own spare time.

    🙂

The first important thing to outline is that you want this filter to STOP any current algo of yours from further trading, is that correct?

To try to make it easier, I want to recap what is neeeded to activate this filter:

1a. Daily HIGH is outside the upper Bollinger Band

2a. Price later drops below the LOW of the above said Daily candle (previous point) – this has to happen on a Daily TF or an intraday TF?

At this point the said filter has disabled trading, which shall be enabled again when:

1b. an HOURLY closing price closes higher that the Daily’s low as said above

2b. close crosses over the HOURLY Sma7

Points 1b and 2b shall be linked together with OR or AND?
