  Hi all, unfortunately I have some issues on PRT and I think that maybe some of them can be resolved. The good news are that in next release a lot of new futures will be releases! Let’s wait and hope so.

  some questions…

  • is it possible to use DDE with IG market PRT version. I have installed it but it doesn’t connect?
  • is it possible to export data in excel from probecktest?
  • I do not find any forward test feature. How can I do a montecarlo forward test on code in PRT? Is there any external software that can help me? Any suggestions?
  • the normal version (not IG Market) does it has data on Timeframe smaller than 1 hour on long perdiod (IG has only few months).

  Hi David,

  I never used the DDE module with IG, but I don’t feel it can works with their datas.

  It’s possible to export from any results windows of Prorealtime into excel worksheets, just click and drag the content of the window into Excel and that’s it.

  About Monte Carlo analysis, you can build one by yourself with Excel, but there are also some commercial software that can do it for you.

  “Normal version” = you mean PRT software?

  yes I mean PRT software.

   

  IG version on 1 hour TF does have only 5 years of history

  IG version on lower than 60 minute timeframe has only few months of history.

   

  Does your version of PRT have more history?

  It depends of what instrument. But be aware that you cannot make a backtest more than 200.000 bars, in every timeframe.
