The GMMA is a useful indicator that can be used in various ways. Daryl Guppy described how he uses it on YouTube and in his book: Trend Trading: A seven step approach to success (Guppy Trading) .
Chris Moody on Tradingview has coded the GMMA in pinescript, specific to that platform. It is not easy to translate this into ProRealtime code. I’ve thought much about how I would code the GMMA into Prorealtime.
The GMMA is a bunch of Fast and Slow moving EMAs. I can code these very easily in PRT code one at a time but that’s not very useful. The main difficulty is coloring the lines so that they change on cross overs. Fast EMA’s may change from say Blue to Orange depending on the cross over (Fast under Slow etc). It gets even more complex because there is a zone of ‘indecision’, where when Fast and Slow EMAs cross, they appear grey. See screenshot attached.
My knowledge of coding is pretty low in approaching how to create this sort of array of EMAs and then change their colour three times depending on position and condition.
I’m grateful if a group of us can get together and help out with some ideas on how to code this.

I found the relevant indicator that approximates to the GMMA on Prorealtime, called the ‘moving average ribbon’ (MAR). It does look like a rainbow in its default configuration. :))
Instead of explaining some of the limitations of the MAR in loads of text, I’ve done a screencast on YouTube [unlisted] which brings out some need to develop the indicator further – or for some help with us coding this. [The MAR does not appear to use EMAs]

However, what Chris Moody has done (as I’ve hyperlinked above) is pretty different. Colours change in zones of congestion etc enhancing its visual usability. Opinions will of course differ – but I know about it from using GMMA on Tradingview, where I found it very good when used with the equivalent of ‘supertrend’ indicator. The Tradingview code is accessible. I’ve tried to code it but I’m not that good at it, so still unsuccessful in mimicking in ProrealCode, what Chris has done (Requires looking his videos).
