A new category is coming to the library, but not that one, and it is a bit off topic (related to PRT version 11).
About the list of snippet links, I was thinking about a new button (similar to the “thanks” one), for users to alert the admin/mods that a new code should be added to the list. The new list should also take place as a new page / section of our online documentation (other ideas are welcome).

I would like to have your point of view on this topic and tell me how I can rationalize my global routine ;

Thanks for your sharing attitude ;

10/22/2018 at 7:48 PM #83365Hi Chris, thanks
I’d love to help, but I’m not clever enough! 🙂
Maybe it’s a bit too big a bite for even some of our clever coders to chew on?
Does that coded strategy (on your link above) execute trades?
I rem’d out the sellshort and exitshort (as a condition needs defining) but despite trying lots of TF’s and a few Markets … no trades were executed?
I’m probably missing the point already as I can see you are looking for bigger picture advice!? 🙂
10/25/2018 at 2:54 PM #83528Hi Grahal,
This code is just to take a postion at an defined entry (here 9 € for a specific stock); my point was to ask the core code that one use when entering the market;
I think u’re underestimate largely yourself following your answers on diverse tricky questions;
> to make it more chewable, which are the screeners that you check every day/week? And on this base if you choose a particular stock, what would be your script then?
thanks for your sharing,
Chris

I don’t check any screeners (maybe I should? 🙂 ) Reason … I would then have another decision to make … do I trade this Stock or not?? I got fed up with the many many hours out of my life that manual trading takes so I’ve had a break from manual trading for a good 6 months now!
I am obsessed (maybe I shouldn’t be! 🙂 ) with getting an Auto-System that makes a profit (small profit will do) with acceptable Drawdown on an ongoing basis … aren’t we all after this?
I am confused when you say … what would be your script then? … after using a screener then surely one can only manual trade your selected stock? So what would we do with a script (code) ??
OR when you say … what would be your script then? … do you mean what would be your next action?? If Yes then I would manual trade it … assuming I had confidence in the screener? 🙂
Edit / PS
I would always try to turn a screener into an Auto-System and then backtest over 100k bars over numerous markets and numerous timeframes and if it did not result in robust profit then my conclusion would that it is shite! 🙂
Maybe I am missing the point of a screener and somebody can enlighten me??

Same here, I want to industrialize ; but how do you choose your asset then as it seems impossible to have an universal strategy? or may be you have found a roughly satisfying one?

Very interesting indeed; I had not thought out this way as I have screeners to identify signals for buying and other for selling

For the case where I trade a specific stock, I want to get totally out of the process of buying and selling and want to let the code (script) enter in position (that I decide) and cut the position; so I was asking which of your SL and TP snipet you were using (thanks a lot for this BTW)
Cheers
PS : I appreciate this discussion as I feel sharing on routine and strategies performances are pretty rare

Just to clarify … I would be happy if the Auto-System made robust profit (acceptable drawdown etc) in one Market and one TF.

Only way you can do above is same as I do … Turn your Screeners into Auto-Systems, trial Systems provided by the kind members on here and / or write your own Systems. All trials done on Demo Platform for weeks or months depending on your chosen TF.
I do all of the above btw and I still haven’t found the holy grail! 🙂

02/28/2019 at 10:48 AM #92508I just had a shock for 10 mins or so … I thought somebody had deleted our Snippet Link Library stored / hosted on My Google Drive! I couldn’t figure out why it was not therefore in the Trash Bin.
I could see copies / back ups I have made of the Snippet Link Library but not the original.
I tried the link below and it worked (Phew!), but somebody has renamed the file to PRT Codes??
If whoever did this could please explain their need and logic for the renaming otherwise I will change the file name back to Snippet Link Library
Thank You
GraHal03/01/2019 at 9:39 AM #92607I swear that it wasn’t me! 😕
I started transferring the links library into the website, that’s the “easy” part, but I still don’t really know how the people could participate by adding some links? with a simple form?

Sounds a good easy way!?

As you are very busy, maybe just do a copy of the links (and other cells as you see fit) to the PRC website for now?
I reckon 80% of the links have been added by the Mods and myself so you may go to a lot of trouble re a Form input and it may not get used much anyway?

I do feel the same. But the purpose is to stop using your google sheet, so the form will be only way to propose new links.

Let’s move this community towards more sharing and excellence in strategy performance 😉
I am trading live a strategy and I have updated the drive
https://docs.google.com/spreadsheets/d/1sVas9Tz5gA94nwu-dYWgeGKY1cud7HwvqKkeqjP1aIo/edit#gid=0
I took the liberty to add the column Perf/month as it is a key indicator for me.
Could you please add the strategies you are running LIVE with their performances?
@Nicolas, could you do the same? A leader sets the example right ;-))??Thanks
Chris
