I am using the paper trading version with real time
I would like to know if there is a tool to chart the Portfolio Value (Portfolio NAV)?
I have found the indicator “equity curve” which works basicaly with just one instrument. Since I focus on the MESXXX it’s ok but it works fine for a few days and then I get an error message and the equity curve disappear. Basically I can get it back doing a reset of the portfolio and starting from scratch.
There is a performance chart which I find kind of confusing since it plots trades and not time with the performance. In addition the amount does not match the change in the NAV (fees computing??)
I have looked in the forum, manuals but did not find a tool which allows me to plot the Portfolio Value !!
thanks for your help

I share your frustration with the sometimes required reset of the demo portfolio.
Same for the fees, now assuming that you’re with a broker (IB ?) that charges fees. It is not taken into account with backtesting properly (or better : not with every means of result you can ask for). And no, there is no means to plot your overall results. And I assume you can’t use the “Detailed Report” statistics for all the reasons you just gave.
Maybe others have hints for you.1 user thanked author for this post.

It is getting better by small increments as each version is released, here’s hoping v12 is better again!

it seems so basics and simple. banks have different software to track such value. Thinking a bit further such a plotting means that PRT should build a database for each account (depends of the time increment, 1-5 15minutes, 1 hour, daily etc..) . Now the data for securities etc.. comes from other databases (external?\
ironically they already have good part of of such data since the performance chart shows the registered closing of the transactions.
The equity value curve is also a tool, they could maybe use the pfolio value instead of the contract/share/instrument traded ??
03/12/2022 at 2:25 PM #189881thanks, as you say… lacks… not really there is no such tool. Gonna start to look for other alternatives to compare. With so many users they should have given more attention to such basic request. Love PRT but I am still down to excel to track the pfolio on a daily basis ;-(
03/12/2022 at 2:47 PM #189883You should send a Suggestion direct to PRT using to Form below. Refer to this Topic then no need to write so much on the Suggestion Form.
I’ve sent Suggestions (over the years) re ‘Analysis Tools’ and a few have appeared on the Platform so sending Suggestions is not a waste of time.
