    FYI, a new backtest engine is deployed for IG demo accounts, this one has a better accuracy for STOP and LIMIT orders, rounding them correctly for the instrument’s ticksize. This engine is not the same as for IG Live accounts, so that’s why discrepancies have occurred recently between DEMO and LIVE accounts for backtests. I received this info this morning.

    It’s the usual (approx) +250 point jump on my chart (IG mobile app demo chart)… so it looks like the 10pm spike will return too – prepare yourself!

    May as well hibernate again for the winter and hope it’s all sorted by next spring!?

    Months of Forward Testing … a total waste of time!

    Unless I check each and every System for false gains and losses! Faff Faff Faff … I hate faffing!

    Hey maybe IG are doing the Faffing for us (Yeahhhh riggghhhttt!! 🙂 ) all the gains at 21:15 have dissappeared from my Orders List.

    Or has my coffee not worked thro’ yet and I’m missing something!?

    @GraHal there are too many variables to consider in regards to % of discrepancy. I nevertheless find it acceptable for the time being.

    This is one of the reasons I asked for a copy of the support ticket being emailed to the user/client to be implemented so that support requests are more accountable and trackable. However as @Pierre from PRT has advised and I can confirm, IG don’t want to implement this due to some “privacy issue” but IG are working on a potential work around solution for a copy to the client.  If these 2 companies can’t trust each other one has to wonder? And I don’t accept some GDPR legislation story because approval to share information can be provided. I’ll keep pressing them to implement this and so should others 🙂

    Erroneous and spurious data is unacceptable and there should be someone at IG who is quality controlling the data but seems like there isn’t.

    I agree, it’s insane! I had a right go – back and to with emails / telecons – to IG over 2 years ago over this and in the end I was told the ‘no copy’ (even no copy of ongoing email thread re no copy of Tech Reports ! 🙂 ) is for security reasons!

    I moaned and moaned (as I have a tendency to if I get past a certain point of frustration!) and they got a then ‘abandoned record’ of online Query Log working. This worked-sh for 2 years or so, but in their wisdom, IG pulled the plug altogether on this online log about 2 months ago!

    In the end I / we get punch drunk and give up re trying to improve things, but then I / we feel like mushrooms (kept in the dark and fed on sh1t! 🙂 )
