Hi there,
I was wondering whether it was possible to use indicators from other assets classes than the one you are trading in?
Example: I’m wondering if it is possible to use, e.g. the volume from the US500 (S&P), while trading in the DAX?
I noticed that it is possible to call the indicator from another index but don’t know if only the code will be used to calculate the volume of the DAX index or does it really take into account the volume of the US500?

If you add your indicator to a DAX chart, or call it from a strategy running on DAX, you won’t be able to make it work with other assets.

Is this still true? I’d be wonderful to make use of such indicators…

Other question on the same topic!
Is it possible to run 2 different systems on the same index, one only in buy mode, the other only in short mode and use a kind of countofshortshares/countoflongshares so that each system can monitor the number of contracts the other system has engaged in?
I’ve tested the countofshortshares/countoflongshares and it doesn’t work but is there a workaround?
Thanks for the replies..

Yes
one only in buy mode, the other only in short mode
Yes but it doesn’t have to be.

No, each System cannot ‘see the other’. We can be long in both, short in both or long in 1 System and Short in the other … there is no restriction.
