Hi Everyone, apologies for the few updates recently. The last 2 months have been rather uneventful as far as trading activity goes. Fortunately November has seen a nice uptick in activity and brought with it some positive returns for the month. I have attached the lastest Live results for the algo, showing a strong performance for November. Looking at the past 5 months for this version of the strategy shows we had 4 out of 5 months positive, which all things considered is a very pleasing result.
Also note that my Black Friday promotion expires at midnight. If there is enough interest I might keep the promotion valid for one more day.
11/30/2022 at 10:44 AM #205061Hi Snorre, obviously considering the positive OOS performance of the High Probability Reversal Strat (prorealcode.com) I would have to recommend it. The most recent version has been running live for 5 months now and considering live OOS performance of all previous versions since launch there is a track record of 18 months. Also it is currently on a massive special.

what i meant was the commisions for opening and closing of the trades, and i do not think that is calculated into what the stretegy shows in IG prorealtime.
because some of the commisions are being debited after thet trade has been closed
12/26/2022 at 3:46 PM #206333Hello Snucke – IG does not work with any commissions – at least not for the instruments we are talking mostly about for Autotrading (Indexes).
IG works with Spreads. You won’t notice anything of that, unless you “see-through” that you lost on entry and/or on exit. So it is incorporated in the net trade revenue. With for example IB, you’d pay commission indeed. *And* a neglectable amount of spread. But you won’t see that in this forum because Autotrading and IB is not available yet.
Hope this helps,
Peter12/27/2022 at 12:56 PM #206359what do you mean?
they charge for opening and closing a trade and most of the instruments cost for having it overnight and over weekend.
the spread is only the difference on what you can buy for and what you can sell for.
the pic is in swedish but this is what 1 gold contract cost to buy and sell

An in itself interesting topic. You (snucke) don’t need to read it again, because you already did (you responded in that topic yourself on the last page).
As I said, for (financial) Indexes no commission is charged. The commission (read : income) for IG is the spread.
Of course you can’t complain about interest being charged (it can be received just the same). Or that currency conversion costs apply. All dealt with in the topic I linked to (like have the account in the matching currency).
And Yes, with some interest in order these days, you might notice this more than a year ago.
In the end it would be true that whatever the cost, the Autotrading System must be able to cover for these costs just the same. So now back to your “blaming” kind of comment :
Is this even profitable when u include commissions?
the answer could be No. I could also say : I never understand much how people present a less than meager result over a more than too long period of time, while they think they impress me. They do not. 😉
I only tried to comment on the “commission” thing. 🙂12/27/2022 at 3:28 PM #206371I want to address 2 things here;
- Each IG account could possibly have different charges associated with each instrument. According to my IG UK account, the only charges aside from the proft and loss transactions is interest. This is very small though and in total actually amounted to only negative $1.26 for the period. The total profit deposited into my account according to the IG log by the strategy totaled $123.67 (only $6.67) less than the ProRealTime value. This means there is only a 5% difference which could possibly be attributed to factors such as commisions.
- With regards to ‘meager’ results do consider the fact that given the account size of $1000, we have seen a 12.3% return over the past 6-months in a time where most traders I know actually lost money. Obviously with a bigger account size the number and contracts could easilly be scaled 10x, giving you a $1236.70 profit for the same period. Do keep in mind that in my personal capacity I run multiple systems so I cannot always allocate massive amounts of capital to a single stratgey.
Thus in conclusion the strategy is indeed profitable factoring in commisions and interest and results certainly cannot be described as meager according to return we have seen over the past few months.
12/27/2022 at 7:31 PM #206377The strategy is good and consistent, no question. Big compliments again. Unfortunately, as a German, I can’t use it, since profits from a German account are immediately taxed at 25%. So I need at least a ratio of 1:1.5 to make it worthwhile.
