I backtested with prt premium
03/26/2017 at 9:45 PM #29927I would love to do this but I need a bigger account. Hopefully, I will try this soon. Pure madness.
03/29/2017 at 5:21 PM #30228Do people feel that things are more profitable on a longer term time scale. For example 4 hour to 2 hours rather than 10 minute time scale or does it depends on markets and time . ( i.e. indices vs commodities vs FX. )
I have not seen too many codes based on ichimoku as I could not get PRT to recognise the lines or indicators on simplified creation .
Anybody who has written an ichimoku code for PRT?
03/30/2017 at 9:23 PM #30418Backtesting in PRT is the way to find bad trading systems and cancel the good ones. Use demo accounts for every trading systems you create. For my experience sometimes trading-systems with very bad results in backtesting they work very good in real, and all the trading systems very good in backtesting don’t work in real. I am using trading systems with time frames from 5 seconds to 30 seconds max.
03/30/2017 at 9:55 PM #30422timeframes of 5 sec to 30 sec must be madness. Maybe it works only if you trade for 15 min /day.
and yes, the backtesting it’s not reliable att all.
And automated live testing still got some problems – my exit rules doesn’t work, if I have a rule based to exit a trade base on a stop loss and MA it will not work. Still plenty of bugs on the new version.
On the live demo testing, it looks good but I will be afraid to use this on a live account, only some of the exit rules works, so far it worked in my favor but who knows for how long.
03/30/2017 at 10:29 PM #30426@danver34 here’s an ichimoku System.

Please let me know if you improve it at all?
@onblitz are there any 5 / 30 Sec Systems on this Site?

04/02/2017 at 5:02 PM #30731PRT has a big fault: When a condition happens, the buy or sell trade starts the at the open of the new bar. 5 to 30 seconds (I use 1 seond time frames too, but for trading system starting after important data and working for only half an hour – and I wish a lot prorealtime allows very soon trading system using ticks per frame, which are the best with very strong volatility) the time frames you have to wait only 5 to 30 seconds. 5 minutes or more bars it is too much time and it can happen the impossible in all those minutes before entering in the market after the signal. So It’s better to use shorter time frames with longer parameters, and REAL results are better and less variable.
04/03/2017 at 12:19 AM #30765Trading with ontick in PRT will probably not happen in my opinion due to it being server side. Their are many reliability issues due to volatile markets, connection risk failure between PRT and IG servers. I wouldn’t even risk trading on 1 second.
04/03/2017 at 9:02 AM #3078704/03/2017 at 10:22 AM #30796@David exact same thing was happening to me a few times last week. I check what was showing on the IG Positions Tab and if that was correct I ignored the PRT anomaly.
I’ll send in a Technical Support ticket (via Help) next time it happens and if you do the same the reason for anomaly occurring MAY get sorted?
Cheers

I will raise a ticket next time it happens as then I can use the Help / Tech Support screen and have it auto-send in my screen and system info etc.
I would deffo been onto IG / PRT had I lost money, but the IG interface was correct re profit etc.
Thanks for the Update
GraHal05/08/2017 at 2:08 PM #3482005/11/2017 at 8:52 AM #35160Today ProOrder is not showing positions open but IG shows positions open. There are no errors listed and the Systems are shown as “Running”.
At the moment there are too many issues in my Demo account for me to have enough confidence to continue to invest more time with PRT. I can’t rely on the demo system to check quasi “real-time live demo performance”. I will have to come back and check periodically if the issues are resolved but that just takes time away from developing. I think the worst part is that I’ve given up on contacting “support” because their response is no response.
