Since 2 weeks , I’ve been facing issues in launching prorealtime. Anyone face the issues also ? Never has such a issue b4.

On the evening of the 19th APR there was a submarine optical cable cut around Bangladesh, this affected internet connectivity for some countries (AUS being one). To give a bit of context, connectivity now runs at ~300ms (vs 230ms), can hit ~430ms peak but it’s the packet loss that your seeing which is making it feel less responsive due to major backbone providers re-routing traffic via JP, HK and NA to reach EU, while existing SG-EU transit is getting hammered. There’s two major cuts…..

You could contact your ISP provider and see whether they can provide a work around. Some customers can use a VPN that might take an alternate path but YMMV. Provide an IP address that you hit in EU when using PRT to your ISP and they might be able to help.

Word has it mid-May as a fix, fingers crossed.

    Good luck.

Thanks a lot for the update! That means the problem will be resolved by mid of May, right ?

So long as there’s no other ‘bugs’ in your setup, yes, we’re all hopeful of a fix around that time. Sounds like you’re collateral damage like me. The system is usable but editing code (or trying to) and even manipulating charts is difficult at times – GUI lags big time.

If you notice a big drop in perf. but resolves in a day or few hours, it can be a mix of something like this as well as Game updates that flood the internet – some of the updates are +40GB and when they drop on the community it knocks performance.

    Like I said, fingers crossed … 🙂

Asean Explorer Cable Ship has now reached the break-site. Hopefully not long before traffic’s moved about and routes from APAC areas begin to reach EU via a more direct path again – fingers crossed maybe next week it all automagically resolve itself.

Can confirm that SeaMeWe 5 has been repaired and active for traffic.

RTT times from APAC should see reduced latencies and increased response times. Basically the GUI should feel snappier across the board.

From AUS we’re seeing ~240ms to PRT w/negligible packet loss.

    Fingers crossed.
