For me time has come to move to another Platform.
I am learning Pinescript on Tradingview, more difficult but a whole new world of possibilities.
I am tired of unrealistic backtest, live systems stopped for crazy reasons, and Ig that has no customer support at all.
Marry Christms to all you guys.
I learnt a lot from every single trader here.
Live long and prosper!

12/30/2019 at 8:28 PM #115625@ai … has your Live PRT Account been used for trading regular recently?
If Yes, was it more than 4 times per month?
Hi ,@GraHal , yes the live account is used regulary and i do more than the minimum trades to have PRT for free , it took 5 minutes for IG (fr) support to normalize my access to the Demo , so i suppose a bug , maybe good to contact them to try to get your Demo account back , nothing to lose anyway , bye

Sorry to hear that you are moving a way from the platform AlexF. I think that your reasons are not much to do with the platform itself but all due to the relationship with IG.
‘Unrealistic back tests’ are because we do not have live spread data – that is because IG do not provide it to PRT and because IG have very little interest in supporting demo trading in any great way.
‘Live systems stopped for crazy reasons’ – that is because IG reject orders and have very little interest in supporting demo trading in any truly accurate way. For example they are happy to shut down and restart demo servers without warning and then let PRT users put up with weeks of hassle waiting for all the bugs to be fixed afterwards.
‘Ig that has no customer support at all’ – well that one is all down to IG and totally out of PRT’s hands.
12/30/2019 at 11:45 PM #115633You are totally righ Vonasi, but let’s deep dive in why we picked up PRT.
Because we can code, test and run our trading system with a clean interface, a more than decent programming language and no need to have a vps.
But the other broker, IB, has no interest in automatic trading. We are left with IG, who provides a less than average support and has no interest in supporting automatic trading users too.
As other people warned in other topics, I too have system with spectacular backtest that are stopped after few hours in live demo with crazy reasons (i.e. you need at least 2000 bars preloaded when I set up 10000…).
Who would trust going live with this scenario?
I am really, really tired of wasting my time.

I wouldn’t be so sure about that – it just is not possible right now. Everything comes to he who waits. How long he waits is another question!
12/31/2019 at 12:39 PM #115649I have used the help chat feature and the system was back in 2 minutes with all the systems still there so it could be worse
01/02/2020 at 11:29 AM #115743Hey Vonasi, yea i discovered same thing for one of my own demo ig accounts.
However, placing 4 trades per month should be fairly cheap to do if u just activate 1 cheap forex strategy that takes trades, that dosnt do big trades! This is what i do and i have kept the “free” PRT demo account for a while now..
Or you could just do 4 manual trades (actually 2 trades if im not wrong, 2 buy and 2 sell orders) risking 10-20 pips or smthn..

I had an account shut down by IG in the past despite doing 4 trades (2 open and 2 close). It seems IG actually want trades of a significant value and not just four scalping trades although they do not actually stipulate this when stating their terms and conditions.

I’m sure I read it recently and it says something like … minimum of 4 trades per month of significance.
01/02/2020 at 4:31 PM #115775of significance.
..and significance is defined as what exactly? £1 win, £1 loss, £50 win, £50 loss, £1,000,000 win, £1,000,000 loss ?
I guess that by just using an undefined significance that leaves IG the right to close any account down at time and just say that all the trades were not significant enough.
01/02/2020 at 5:16 PM #115780I take it to mean that if one’s trades per month are regularly not netting IG £30 per month one way or another (in Spreads, Losses, Overnights etc) then yeah one’s trades would be considered (by IG) as to be NOT Significant.
I can understand the IG position … they have to make a profit … and while they have loads of Accounts standing idle (no / very few live Trades) then they need to close them.
What annoys me is that all IG needed to have done to prevent unrest and dissatisfaction of the user base is to send 1 x email warning along the lines of …
Dear ***
You have 1 week to export – user codes, system performance etc – from your Account,Please Note:
Your Account will be closed on *********
due to insufficient significant Live Trades for > * months.Regards
IGIt would be so easy to run a Database Report monthly, linked to Auto-Letter sending SW. It beggars belief that IG do not consider their user base worthy of such thoughtful Customer Service??
After receiving an email similar to above, I don’t think any of us would have grounds to be p**d off??
