I just got a new monitor with a 4k resolution on 28″. Windows programs (on OS Windows 10) scale perfectly to that high resolution (same size, but better resolution) but PRT just shows the windows way too small. While this is cool for charts, normal text is almost unreadable.
a) Do you have any suggestions how to improve the readability with PRT on 4k?
b) I am pretty sure, PRT is a Java program, and there is a JVM setting “-Dsun.java2d.dpiaware=false” which should help, but where can I set it?Thx in advance!
03/23/2017 at 1:48 PM #29597Hi.
I have the same problem with the small text.
I change between working on laptop screen and 36″ HD screenMaybe you saw this option or not.
Menu : Options – Platform options – Template options [tab] – Fonts.
Adjust the font size and/or icon size.Hope this helps.

I have the same problem, i just bought a new QHD laptop 13.3 inches. (3200×1800) although i already enlarge via option but the font still to small for a 13.3 inches laptop especially on coding windows. Anyone know how to resolve it? my temporary workround is to downgrade my laptop resolution…. but it’s completely a waste for QHD laptop 🙁

03/15/2018 at 9:17 PM #65393Hi,
to me adjusting the font size and/or icon size is not a good solution as I can’t easily pick the border of children windows in order to resize them, while I can easily do it ay 1920×1080 resolution.
I undestand that this issue has been fixed in the new java 9 release. Unfortunately PRT uses an embedded version of java so I think it’s not possible to use another one.
🙁

You can open PRT using non-embedded java … see attached
PS I also have difficulty with small text sizes … especially the coding screen due partly to lack of contrast on the coding screen!
The coding screen text is like I have catarracts (which I haven’t! 🙂 ) and I am viewing through obscure glass!

Beer goggles perhaps?
Sorry couldn’t resist.
