It is not resolved, yet, unfortunately.
I tried on the 1-h chart, and it seems very random now. Sometimes the backtests run for the entire period of bars shown, and sometimes they start randomly somewhere in the more recent past, including the very recent past (e.g. Feb or May this year). I have observed this just now for the DAX and also for Gold, while for the Dow, GBPJPY or EURUSD, it worked normally, but I have not tried for a very long time…
Hope that PRT can fix this problem soon!
06/16/2020 at 7:38 PM #136191Good news, it seems they solved the issue mentioned by Jebus. You can do backtests as before, even after removing the “tick by tick” mode. I hope it’s the same for you guys.
Thank you PRT !
This problem is now solved for me as well 🙂

06/17/2020 at 12:42 PM #136250It still does not work for me. It is still random. Attached is two screenshots for the Dow showing the same 3 strategies (obviously not optimized for the Dow, but that’s another story) without changing the starting time (for each strategy set to start at the beginning of the shown chart). As you can see, in the 1st attempt, two of the three strategies randomly started much later, in the 2nd attempt it worked normally. It just keeps changing… not a very satisfactory situation!
I hope PRT will fix this very soon!!!
10/25/2020 at 1:19 PM #148399This issue is ongoing for me, unfortunately!
It happens only in the 1-h chart (but basically in all instruments): even though my settings are to test the enire available data (without Tick-by-Tick mode), the starting time is randomly set sometime in the past (sometimes a year in the past, sometime several years, sometimes all the way at the beginning of the dataset). It is really random and makes backtesting difficult.
PLEASE, dear PRT-Team, fix this issue as sonn as possible!
Thank you!

Unfortunately, closing the backtest chart does not improve the situation.
However, it seems that setting a conrete date near the beginning of the available data (rather than checking the box for starting at the first date shown) seems to do the job, at least for the moment.
