My PRT Demo account went haywire overnight

  Hi,

  I have been using PRT demo for about 4 months to collect data on various strategies.

  Overnight, after no input of my own, the system completely flipped and is now executing orders that have no relevance to the code whatsoever.

  Some strategies are multiplying the contracts (eg: instruction was to buy 2 contracts but instead it is buying 4) and over half the strategies have completely flipped from long to short – there is literally no code in these programs for a short instruction (long only program) and vice versa for the short programs.

  This has destroyed months of forward testing and more importantly, makes me uneasy that my current live account could suddenly do the same thing without warning.

  Has anyone else encountered this? I use an Australian IG sponsored account.

  Yes I have experienced similar to what you describe above, but in my case it was only one autoSystem that was affected.

  Another member (user – Nonetheless) of this community also had similar, again it was 1 System that was affected (I believe?).

  I have not heard about anybody’s Live System being affected in the way you describe above, although from time to time odd happenings are experienced by users on Live.

  YMMV because this is what happened to my Demo account which failed a couple of months back and can’t be reactivated for this particular strategy because it keeps on failing. GraHal may remember that I mentioned this before. “This has no priority because it is Demo” is what I was told.

  Sure.

  But anyway, this is just some technical failure which we all experience once in a while. This particular thing could have happened in Live just the same. This happens and/but causes that we must stay alert and watch for systems stopped (and kill the position if still there – this latter is a PRT setting). But real strangenesses as you experienced, Lucky1 ? no. I never saw such thing.

  PPS: The worst indeed is the fact that months of forward testing are destroyed. This surely happened to me too. Because of a data failure some crazy trade 100M trade happened, which turned out into a profit. Then a 100M Short followed (the data normalised again), and that one I lost. Then my account was empty and all my history was gone because I had to reset it.
  Go with such a thing to support and they won’t understand what your problem is. Man, many months of lost cumulative work !!

  I just noticed that overnight 5 of my Demo Systems (on 1 Account) are showing position size = 2 on DJI.

  I checked each System code and all are cumorders = False and Buy / SellShort = 1 and most have switch direction conditions and so should never have possize > 1.

  Something weird going on with Demo Accounts??

  I’ve just noticed 2 more at possize = 2, so that is 7 in all.

  Latest 2 are shorts so I may have not seen them earlier as I had sorted by possize and the shorts were out of sight.

  Here’s another quirk (new to me). PRT version is from May 13. System stops for one of its famous reasons (grrrr), but this time the order shows greyed out and I would not be able to restart it. Now it seems stuck forever.

  Sorry to be off topic, but some times I get this mood … well, you know.
