Since monday I have a problem. I run a strategy that opened a position last week and held it over last weekend. During the weekend both take profit order and stop loss order of the open position disappeared and left an open position in the market.
I didn’t want to write about it here on the forum because I got so negative feedback last time I wrote about my problems with PRT. So I reported this problem on monday and tuesday again, I still have not gotten any reply at all to this tickets.
I understand that there were obviously many problems last weekend but I expected some answer anyway. I consider this situation quite serious. I have an open position in the market (still have) and PRT doesn’t place the SL or anything else. Actually it seems like the strategy is not running at all but it is still showed as running and the position is open.
Can someone from PRT please contact me regarding this problem?! I’m a little bit disappointed that I again have to write here because I’m growing desperate. I had hoped that things had changed after all the intense words last time. 🙁

What you experience is not a new problem.
I have had it before with various strategies on various Indices/FX.
I stopped the strategy and started it again. Then manually added SL/TP on those positions.I did not bother to report it to PRT/IG so safe myself the reply.
03/29/2018 at 9:52 AM #66664@Andre: You could stop and restart the strategy without the position was closed? This shouldn’t be possible either since PRT should close the position because of extern interference.
Was already thinking about doing so since the strategy in question doesn’t seem to do anything anymore. No SL, no TP and it should also have accumulated more contracts by now. I just didn’t want to change the situation since I had the hope that someone from PRT would have a look at it.
You should always such problems when you have them. It is important to point it out to PRT so they maybe can solve the problem and we can get a more reliable platform one day.

IMPORTANT – SETTING IN PRT: Menu – Trading Options – Automatic Trading (tab) – tick “Remain open”.
This will ensure the position stays open even if you close the strategy. When it happened to me I could not close the position manually. (may be one can force stop it through IG web interface platform)
The strategy did not open any new trades while that one position was hanging in there with it’s lost SL/TP.After I stopped the strategy the position stayed open. PRT platform saw the open position as a manual opened position which I then added SL/TP manually.
After I started the strategy again it opened new positions as supposed to while the previous ‘broken’ one was still running as manual entry. As for reporting an issue –
Some days one is just not in the mood to go through reporting and waiting for feedback/reply and you find a work around. You say to yourself you will log a software bug case when it happens again.03/29/2018 at 11:54 AM #66676It looks like on the picture attached. The position is shown as an automated, no manual. But you see there are no pending orders in the market. There should be both TP and SL.
I also understand definitely you reluctance to report issues. I also didn’t do so for a long time but then how can we expect things to get better if we don’t report problems. But well I already expressed my frustrations about this issue so I will not do so again.
03/29/2018 at 11:58 AM #66678Yes. Mine looked the same.
It shows as automated trade but without SL/TP/etc.It only turns to a ‘manual’ postion when you close (stop/start) the startegy that started it.
03/29/2018 at 12:11 PM #6668203/29/2018 at 12:20 PM #66683You can easily turn am Auto System to a manual trade via the IG ‘old platform’ (as IG name it) clikc on the open position and then the edit tab and then add or change a Limit or Stop order and then press confirm and bang the System is closed but the order remains open as a manual trade … I do it all the time when, very useful!

I know exactly what you mean. A while back I was having so many issues that I was spending so much time reporting problems and discussing them on here that I barely had any time for actual trading and I had to say enough is enough. I felt more like a platform tester than a trader!
