Hi everyone, I start a real account after a few months with the demo version.
Now with the real account I have a problem when I want to change the quantity of the order,
For example If I do a trade with a few contracts and I want to use more than one exit for each contract, usually if you click on the number of contracts a box appears where you can change it.
As you can see on the screenshot of my trade, that option is not available.
Does anyone can help me with this problem?
Thanks!
Ferran

03/29/2022 at 3:04 PM #190742Hi Ferranmajo – My THIRD attachment shows exactly the same as yours, where you say that the option to change the number of contracts is not available. However, by first and second attachment show that it just is there. You need to click the number though (the 4 in my case). But :
For example If I do a trade with a few contracts and I want to use more than one exit for each contract
See the part I made bold. It looks like *that* is your issue, but that is never possible ?? (that I know of)

03/29/2022 at 3:27 PM #190746Firs of all, sorry that is in Spanish.
As you can see I don’t have the same choices. In Spanish it should say “cierre parcial de la posición” but it doesn’t appear
03/29/2022 at 3:30 PM #190751Thanks for the answer,
Yes, when I was using the demo version, It worked the same way as your screenshots shows. But now it just doesn’t show that option.
Maybe I need to activate something, but I tried to activate almost anything that make sense and it didn’t work.
03/29/2022 at 3:49 PM #19075203/30/2022 at 1:41 AM #190764I think its about the broker, I’m using IG markets broker.
And I also have a PRT demo account with them and also I don’t have that tool that It works so good with PRT.
03/30/2022 at 1:48 AM #190765Now I saw that partial close option, I guess it only works when the order is executed and not before.
But with the partial close option, can you choose at what point you want to take profits? As I show you in the screenshot attached, which is from the demo account from PRT with PRT.
Or you need to do it manual and use the partial close option once the price hits the point where you want to go out with a few contracts?
Thanks a lot
03/30/2022 at 7:18 AM #190768So you can see partial Trading now on yuor Live Account? I just checked mine and I can see it when I right click on an executed trade (as you say).
I don’t do a partial close as above anyway! 🙂
Enable ‘1-click trading’ and use the buttons in the top right of the menu bar … see screenshot. The 1-click enable setting may be in the IG Platform under PRT? Let me know if you can’t find it?
So, for example. Buy 5 then at appropriate price point, Sell 1 at market or use the Stops and Limits (see red arrowheads).

04/01/2022 at 4:34 AM #190889Thanks for the answer.
IG markets just replay me and send me and email saying that what I’m trying to do is not possible with PRT through IG.
Which is a bit disappointing, with doing scalping trade it should be quite basic to have this types of tools available.
Sad that I cannot find a way to do a trade as on the attached file. Where with 1 entrance with more than 1 contract you can put 2 different targets.
04/01/2022 at 7:37 AM #190892So the work around has to be … Open 5 (or whatever) trades individually and then set exit levels for each individual trade … the result is the same as you wanted, but more messy?
Example, after setting : ‘Force Open to Disabled’
- Open Buy trade of 5 Contracts with no Stops or Limits.
- Set 5 individual Sell stop / limit exits of 1 Contract each.
Anybody feel free to add to above or to say above can’t be done etc??

04/01/2022 at 7:42 AM #190893Yeah. But I still can’t see what’s bugging Ferran really. Can you ? His original post is just not consistent.
Thus GraHal, what you propose seems the most normal thing to do, to me. Can this be done in an other way, in your opinion ? by means of “changing the quantity of the order” as Ferran suggests ? I must be blind …
04/01/2022 at 7:53 AM #190894So I buy 9,78 contracts. Next I individually set as many limits as a like, in either direction (or at either side of the price).
What am I missing ??The only thing one could want is that when one position exists, the other orders are killed. Thus what you see in the 2nd attachment is not possible with the various quantities.
