Hi again Reiner.
I have another question about profits and losses, which I cannot understand:
If I backtest versión V6 starting on 29/12/2015, it makes a nice profit starting the first trade on 15/02/2016 until now.
But if I start with the same conditions between 30/12/2015 and 3/01/2016, it makes losses of about 11.200€ in 2 trades, the first trade in 12/01/2016 and the second one in 15/02/2016, both with big losses!!
However, if I start the backtest from 4/01/2016 on, it makes profit again until now, with the first trade in the same date of 15/02/2016 (with profit, where I got losses in the las backtest!!).
Which could be the reason for that?
Best regards
12/11/2016 at 2:20 PM #18245Hello all
I have backtested both strat Pathfinder 1h and 4h. As you already probably know, they are very similar (or built on the same logic). As a consequence, they often have opened position at the same time. So be careful at you money management and your risk if you use these 2 strat at the same time.
Congrats once again to Reiner for this great job

12/11/2016 at 2:26 PM #18246I have tested what Petrus has noticed and I confirm that there is something strange with this position of 12/01/2016, that does not appear if backtest begins before 3/01 and after 6/01; but for me, the position of 15/02/2016 remains positive in any case…

12/12/2016 at 12:21 AM #18262FRUSTRATED!
I was open long on the pathfinder 4h V6B2 since 7/12/16 it opened at 10882.7.
i have just logged in on Sunday night as the dax was about to open when PRT stopped my system with an error message saying your trading platform does not recognise your command, right before the giant bar!
Can anyone shed any light on this? This had dented my confidence in PRT and IG index

12/12/2016 at 2:29 AM #1826312/12/2016 at 7:17 AM #18264The only thing i can tell you that mine V6B2 reached it’s limit last Friday night at 11.236 at 21.17 hrs.
Maybe others can confirm that?
The only thing i can think of is that either you had a different stop/loss or there is something wrong with the time difference in the UK? I thought Cosmic explained something about the settings
on this forum.
V6B2 was already running when V6 was released by Reiner, but now the position is closed i changed it from V6B2 to V6.

12/12/2016 at 8:07 AM #18266Thank you Patrick & sylvess on the advice of timezone changes to my country.
I set my Shares – Germany in my platform timezone option to UTC +01:00, the DAX chart showed the timings based on UTC +02:00. Thus I adjusted the start time and end time to one hour earlier.
I also unchecked Display weekend data, however one candle on Sun 11 Dec still appear. The daily high / low for 12 Dec is showing the daily high / low of the 11 Dec candle and not the daily high / low of Friday 9 Dec.
Seems like it is PRT issue in dealing with timezone. I’m still trying to tweak it.
Just by setting start and end time in the code will return different daily highs / lows for different time zone settings ya?
12/12/2016 at 8:11 AM #1826712/12/2016 at 8:55 AM #18273Thank you for the replies,
I have also now started running V6 as i too was already running V6B2
Could you help me out with changing the timezone for the UK and what i must do, as i am struggling to find the thread related to this, and i would like to be confident i have it correct before setting it live once again.

for example the DAX. I’m not even sure if this can be done in the timezone settings in PRT. On page 27 the 2nd. post on this forum a showed a picture of the settings for CET.
I think the best thing you can do is to adjust the timezone in the code. Because than you can use multiple codes for the same market is my guess. You can take a look at the post from Sylvess on page 27. He shows Choo Jen-Sin how to adjust the settings in the code for the Singapore timezone. If you understand that, you can also adapt it for the UK timezone.

Patrick
