Updated the frontpage, updated dropbox and installed all V7 in the IG live environment successfully.
My expectation is, that stocks will see an uptrend after the “summer hole”. Maybe a bit early, but better now than too late.
07/27/2017 at 10:38 AM #41780Hey,
due to the new bafin regulatories and the new “limited risk”-accounts on IG (german account, don’t know if it’s comparable to other countries), I hab some problems with the Pathfinder bots. They just stopped for unknown reason. Did anybody have the same problems?
Additionally the automatic trades now have guaranteed stops, which mean the margin of the trade equals the SL difference. With that in mind it could be difficult for the Pathfinder to cumulate trades in a trend phase.

just little question at phone to know if you trade for several years.
and question about your salary and your savings (no proof necessary).
But i don’t know if “expert account” will resolve the problem… i don’t have trade for know (one week) (but no order reject ) (with limit account the last week i have had some order reject)
sorry for my bad english
07/27/2017 at 10:59 AM #41788The third way would be having enough trades with “high trading volume”. I wanted to know what that means but they didn’t tell me.
I asked for a professional account. They said they checked my account and i do not fulfill the requirements.

I’m just testing the V7 robots in demo mode and had no problems so far. I checked the Bafin changes discussed here and the Pathfinder algo should continue to work as it is.
Let me know if you have some problems.
Best, Reiner
07/27/2017 at 1:40 PM #41807Hey Reiner,
i asked the prorealtime help desk to check why pathfinder stopped last night. Maybe there’s another reason for it.
But i think the guaranteed stops could be a problem because of the huge margin. At the moment a DOW trade is running (1 contract long) on Pathfinder V6 which produces a margin of nearly 1200€. If the Pathfinder starts to cumulate orders, maybe with a seasonal multiplier of 3 instead of 1 that could be critical.
07/27/2017 at 2:22 PM #41811Hi Guys,
I have made a small extension in the V7 position size calculation. In V7 the position size will be calculated according the following formula:
size = default positionSize * trendMultiplier * saisonalPatternMultiplier
The default size will be increase if the weekly strategy performance is positiv and if saisonal pattern expect a positive sentiment. @reb and @nicolas remember me that this could be a risky behavior and the traded position size could be to high. For that reason I have added a maximum size per trade monitoring and together with the decimal lot size everyone can better adjust their risk to their account size.
You can control now with the variable maxPositionSizePerTrade the maximum size per trade independent from trend and saisonal booster.
Here is an example for the Pathfinder DAX V7. In the below code the maximum risk per trade is limited to 3 DAX contracts. Although the maximum position sizes was reduced to 6 (from 10) the performance of the V7 is the same as in V6 but with 40% lower risk.
123456// size calculation: size = positionSize * trendMultiplier * saisonalPatternMultiplierONCE positionSize = 1 // default start sizeONCE trendMultiplier = 2 // >1 with dynamic position sizing; 1 withoutONCE maxPositionSizePerTrade = 3 // maximum size per tradeONCE maxPositionSizeLong = 6 // maximu size for a long positionONCE maxPositionSizeShort = 6 // maximum size for a short positionPlease find attached the adjusted V7 version for Dow and HangSeng. I’ll release the V7 for the other indices soon (FTSE, Nikkei, EuroStoxx, CAC, SAF).
Best, Reiner
07/27/2017 at 3:34 PM #4182207/27/2017 at 9:28 PM #41866There is no “expert account” for German people, all germanese accounts are limited risk accounts, it’s the new BaFin regulation, sorry guys..
So a lot of strategies could not be tradable by German and should be modified. I don’t know if it is the case for Pathfinder. The code should be reviewed to confirm or not its compatibility.
07/28/2017 at 7:05 AM #4187407/28/2017 at 7:42 AM #41875Good Morning Nicolas,
i talked to IG germany yesterday and it is possible to be classified as “professional customer” and get rid of the “limited risk” account and its limitations.
But you have to (one of those):
- have a 500.000€+ account
- work in finance sector for at least a year
- do at least 10 trades per quarter with a “high trading volume”
