Hello All, I am experiencing the same issue. The vertical bar on the chart used to occur only when I had set and end date for a back-test. For about the past week it occurs on every chart. I occurs on the last completed candle and stays there until a new back-test is run or the template is reloaded. This morning it even occurred at some point about half way along the chart although it moved to the end on re-running a back-test. Nicholas, it is a new occurrence for the past week or so. It did not occur before that. Regards, Peter D.

I’m intrigued / nosey as I may be missing out on a better way of working!? 🙂 (currently not possible due to the bar, I understand now)

- Do you have dashboard / separate chart each for all your Algos running in ProOrder Autotrading?
OR
2. Do you have dashboard / separate chart each for lots of Algos running – just in Live backtest / forward test – and you then take a manual trade as you judge best?
08/28/2022 at 9:34 AM #199722Hello,
I am experiencing the same issue.
The vertical bar appears on the limit of the dates you are viewing,
Example: if I have on the screen a partial view until 15/08/22 and today it is 28/08/22, the backtest stops on the 15/08/22.
However, if I wide the screen to view until the 28/08/22, and run the probacktest again, then I get the total test …
Hope this helps

I can’t understand what the issue is, as this is the situation for ages ? Thus, the OP must mean something else than “just the vertical bar” being there and the end of the backtest. This is just the indication *that* it is the end of the backtest.
But the OP also talks about other charts and that part seems to be beyond me ?

Yes I agree, I was trying to get to the bottom of what they are all on about / doing with my questions on the post link below??
I’m intrigued / nosey
It appears thats some users have lots of Charts running which they want running / continually updated as soon as they open the Platform?
I not be surprised if PRT have the vertical line so that it limits the load on PRT servers?
On that note … optimising does seem to be good and responsive today … could be my imagination, time will tell!?
08/28/2022 at 10:48 AM #199726When I experienced a backtest being halted BEFORE the actual planned end, I changed the spread from 1 to 1.1 (maybe changing any other datum would do, as well, I did not test that) and did a backtest again, then restored it to 1 and everything worked for a while!
It’s a bit of a nuisance…. but it seems to work (as a temp solution, I hope).

08/28/2022 at 11:18 AM #199729The bar is also displayed at the beginning of the backtest.

Where / how are the orders continuing to execute if the Chart has stopped?
08/28/2022 at 11:58 AM #199735I think there is a mechamism in play that stops a backtest when the market is closed, like right now (Sunday). I did not test anything today, but I have seen that. And, in the end, the end of the back test would not be able to be “now”, but at Friday night. So the situation would be the same : a vertical bar somewhere on Friday (maybe Saturday).
This would obviously not happen during the week, when any backtest running till the current time will proceed with Forward Testing.?
08/28/2022 at 12:12 PM #199736I agree, I’ve seen that and not been bothered at all by the correct logic of the vertical bar at Friday close etc.
I think the users who want fixes / answers are on about something else, but trouble is they have ‘lives to live’ at the weekend and don’t come on here 😉 … unlike us sad acts!!!!! hahahahhaha
08/28/2022 at 1:38 PM #199748when the market is closed
That could be it … users who have problems with vertical lines / backtest ending are running charts for Instruments which IG / their broker does not provide a 24 hour market?
Right … off to live my (weekend) life now! 🙂
