must be tested in real conditions of trading
Does running on realtime live data (Forward Test) on Demo Platform satisfy the above requirement?

I had found two websites that sold their trading systems, Perfect beautiful graphics with all our systems written on our accounts in LIVE …. well I said to myself, but I only saw graphs but the operations were not shown …. to my request for information very kind they replied immediately … but when I asked to see the operations performed they no longer made themselves heard … disappeared. A website was full of exceptional reviews, but even the one that disappeared without showing me the operations performed ….. I always think about the good faith of people, but trust only what they show you and on Prorealtime it is easily demonstrable …. .as Nicolas told you, ask for operations and see if they answer you ….. We hope there are many around who want to take advantage but there are also many serious people ….. hello
04/29/2021 at 9:53 AM #168356I have two trading systems that I am trying both in demo and in live … and they go in the same way practically without difference … it would be enough for me that they also show me the demo but with a sufficient number of executions to be able to trust that it works and above all it earns ….. I also wait for it to be activated in order to buy and earn ….. personally I often have losses alone…😠😠😠

Maybe there is a case for a separate Category based on Virtual Money / Demo Forward Test … at an expected lower cost than a Category based on Real Money / Live Forward Test?
I had half a mind I may have offered some of my Algos … at low cost, more to justify the effort of getting onto MarketPlace etc.
I’ve had feelings that others using my Algos and me getting something back would inject more interest / frisson into my coding! 🙂
I stop my Algos on Real Live when I consider they are trading in the wrong direction (been manual trading too long) and so I couldn’t offer Real Live results.
Just a few thoughts anyway, for consideration.
04/29/2021 at 11:47 AM #168372hi all,
I think it’s a must to expose ourself live to any tool that we aim at selling to others.
Whether or not MP enforces that any product (especially automatic trading) is tested live, any smart client should request it, and even more request broker statement of live account of at least 6 months.
So to say, that on december 14, last year, I started a 6 month period testing of one automatic PRT based trading system. And as of yesterday, the same runs on MT4 plateform with the same broker. In the end, I can’t promise to anyone futur profit using it, but I can bring evidence that I trusted enough to put my own capital before asking others to do the same.
04/29/2021 at 11:58 AM #168374I think that seeing the operations performed is more than enough …. you cannot ask the broker to show other people’s operations ….. but I repeat from previous experience the demo perfectly reflects what you then do on Live .. ..when I put in live I start the demo at the same time and I have always obtained the same operations …. a few euros of differences between the demo and the live …. my problem for now is to have a trading system that functions over time (even short).
04/29/2021 at 12:22 PM #168376You may also consider… than once in live, you will still fix bugs 🙂 Especially with PRT where the back testing is not a replay of past execution. PRT backtesting approach is good as it gives you results promptly, but not monitoring how your system works while in trade fails to provide interesting information on functionnal bugs (the ones that affect performance but do not throw error codes). I fixed a few.. and the result in back test over the same period in live account is just incrredible.

Buying software AND the associated service of maintaining functionality and updates is crucial and I think most vendors are aware that this is the added value that customers are looking for.
Once again, it is the seriousness and efficiency of the vendors in providing the best service that will be reflected in the rating that customers will give to the products (beyond the simple performance).
05/01/2021 at 3:53 PM #168514I’m active on another market place when trade robots are sold. The biggest problem there is a high % of faked products. The sellers simply tweak their products by unfair means to show good backward results. Then they update the code regulary under the headline of bug fixes or improvements, but they tweak again.
Many products on that platform are risky by using grid or averaging concepts. The tweaks lead to an enormous risk of those faked products which many buyers aren’t aware about simply as events of large drawdown or high margin load aren’t seen in backtests.
That platform misses the most natural method to remove some sellers’ appertite of tweaking with unfair methods: a mechanism to get the sales price refunded if there is a clear evidence that past results had been manipulated. That is relatively simple to show in many cases. Even though it is, the operators of that platform aren’t interested to focus on bad sellers to refund the sales prices to buyers.
I wish the PRT market place every success, and I would hope that the PRT team finds a more fair and effective approach to protect the buyer’s interests against those of the sellers. Evidently, no one can request to make always money with bots, or even do at all, but what a buyer can request is, that programmers don’t exclude in their codes trading at difficult market times just they know about because these happened in the past, and then try to demonstrate a level of trading safety using the bot which in real future life won’t exist – as “difficult” market times for any algorithm will for sure come up again.
I should add: on the cited platform, people share apparent trade results on demo and live accounts. But even these can be faked as experience has shown. The importance of a reimbursement method for proven questionable products isn’t lowered just if sellers need to show some trade results. These are two different matters indeed.
05/01/2021 at 4:33 PM #168515The best way to know if a product is good or bad is through customer feedback. In the future marketplace, if a product accumulates bad ratings, it is possible that it will be removed on this simple criterion.
Grid or averaging concepts is a way of trading, which some people like, I know some people who live from it.
The money management of a trading strategy is entirely up to the developer. However, I think it would be appreciated if the developer would explain this in the product description.05/03/2021 at 10:16 PM #168721Ths only thing we can think about is : Why would someone sell an algo to win few euros when they can win a lot of euros with the same algos 🙂 ?
i’m completely sure that noone will sell a winning algo, no interest ..Expect to win less 🙂
Bye
