Stumbled over a strange bug (?) yesterday.
I had a nice working strategy and wanted to set it on demo and thought i should add the line “defparam preloadbars=300” to make sure that all indicators will load correctly. But after i added this line the strategy didnt take any trades anymore. After i removed the line it worked again. I did not understand it but obviously i shall not preload any bars. 🙂

07/26/2017 at 1:15 PM #41667Can’t close open position placed manually.
Trading Spot GoldMini (10oz) I opened a buy position. Trailing stop was added. The trade ran for less than an hour. I wanted to close the trade when it was profitable buty could not.
The red cross on the trade price/profit/loss displying on the graph is greyed out. Option to close the trade via “opened position” windows also not possible. The red cross greyed out – it’s grey like an auto-trade position that cant be closed manually.
The trade now went in to losing postion and still dropping while I’m busy writing this.
Will PRT take responsibility for my losses due to a bug?
Thank you
Andre Vorster.

07/26/2017 at 1:36 PM #41674Response time closing trades on graph very slow.
Scenario:
I have multiple positions open on the DAX. The market moves fast in the right (or wrong) direction and I’m manually closing trades.
Once one closes a trade it takes some time before the buttons are alive again to close the next position and then takes more time for the buttons to be active again so one can close the next trade and so on.
The delay it takes to refresh the screen, especially the close buttons at the position screen is to long.
At a time when one needs to close positons fast this delay in screen/button refresh is not acceptable. I have lost some money due to this.Being in IT industry for many years and have also worked as software tester I can see PRT software is written well and normal response and screen refresh is good.
Why then the slow response when want to close positions? ?This is an serious issue since it involves other’s people money/investment directly and not just software.
I am using fast stable internet and a fast stable laptop. The delay is not there.

Andre Vorster.07/26/2017 at 1:38 PM #41675I don’t think that’s software related, please ask your broker which is not prorealtime I’m guessing.

07/26/2017 at 2:52 PM #41686Please put up a screen shot of the ‘Close Buttons’ you refer to? I have had something similar or exactly same maybe, I will know when I see your Close Buttons.

07/26/2017 at 4:20 PM #41696Trailing stop.
Scenario:
Have sell position open on FTSE 100 cash.
Trailing stop set to 4 points.
The trade goes positive to 5.3 points (at the stage +-£80 profit)
The trailing stop did not update and move.
At about 5.5 points the market turned and I had to close the trade manually at 2 points below manually (profit £20).
In this case it was £80 VS £20. The same issue could have applied to amounts of £800 or £8000 VS £200 or £2000 …On all other trades the trailing stop follows and does what it’s supposed to do without fail.
Do you think this broker related or PRT related?
Thank you.
07/26/2017 at 4:52 PM #41698Possibly due to spread and minimum stoploss between price and the stop level. You can have a look at your orders list with CTRL+O so what happened.

Sorry I should have been more precise. The close button I refer to is the red cross next to the open trade on the graph screen.
07/27/2017 at 10:53 AM #41783Hi Andre
Yes I’ve had same as you where the red cross is ‘greyed out’ (and appears not to be available). However, I found (by trial) that if I clicked on the greyed out cross it still closes the Trade.
Also something I found (but may not be the case with you?) to get better / consistent response from the red cross I need to click slightly to the right of the middle of the red cross. Let me know if you get this in any way at all please (e.g. it may work best for you to click to left, top or bottom even)?
Thanks

08/05/2017 at 5:08 PM #42508Hi Grahal.
The same scenario happened today 2017-08-03 on DAX @ 8:00 GMT+1.
The close X buttons was greyed out on the trades even though the trades was placed manually.
As one can see from the screenshot-:
* The market was not moving that fast with big differences in price.
* Trades were placed manually some distance from another.I could only one trade at a time but with a delay of about 7-8seconds in between before I could close the next trade. The delay due to the close X icon greyed out/disabled.
Clicked seceral times on the X to close the trade and clicked the close X in the “open positions” window.
I switched between screens, closed and opened the DAX screen to force it to refresh but none of that helped. What I did saw during going through the various PRT windows is that there was a message stuck behind one of the windows displaying some error message about “..can’t trade on graph..”.
I did not read it nor made a screen capture as I was quite busy at the time to try and close positions. What happened here again placed a limitation on trade at the time.
I wanted to open other trades on other indices at the time but was not sure if that might turn to loss because of the same error.08/05/2017 at 8:35 PM #4251308/05/2017 at 8:48 PM #42518 -
