Is it my imagination or is PRT using more CPU power since 2 weeks ago?
I noticed it at first as my PC cooling fan goes like crazy when booting up PRT. Even after all is booted the fan is running faster than I recall in the past??
CPU column on Task Manager shows as between 65% and 85% … and that is with me doing nothing on the Platform!
I’ve got into a routine of closing my Platform more often for fear of PC overheating! Also I now Quit PRT when doing other tasks like google browsing, checking emails etc.
Is it my imagination or does anybody else concur with my observations?

But I recall that in the end this did not help really. So yes, it can give back memory to the system, but in no-time it’s eaten again (by PRT).Btw, you can run a garbage collection on the PRT instances, but they too don’t help really.
Something else and to the point perhaps : I did not notice anything changed the past days. Maybe … very maybe the system as a whole has become more sluggish. For example, yesterday I gave an order to the system and right on that moment all froze for at least 20 seconds. I never saw that before.
Indeed it could be so that at startup all charts remain “black” (way) longer.
What I most certainly noticed is the time an Export of an .itf now takes. Like 5 – 10 seconds before the form pops up on where to save it. Import the same thing. This seems to be since about two weeks …

03/12/2022 at 11:30 AM #189861I’ve been noticing this for a lot longer, about half a year, and in connection with the indicators, it’s getting much worse. From the time when the American market begins, I have to turn off indicators so that the PC does not freeze. I wrote to the PRT service and had no reaction, I also spoke to the manufacturers of the indicators and they didn’t have any advice either. My PC is powerful.

03/12/2022 at 12:28 PM #189875I told my local support that I spent 100s of euros for an indicator that is unusable because too slow. I was asked why I did not ask back my money. Actually that was all for the response. Not something along the lines of “we will improve our server capacity”.
Mind you please, unusable is just that.Anyway, I told that Nicolas should know about this because this way he theoretically will sell less (not himself, but you get the gist). Of course nobody told him, unless I just did. 🙂
03/12/2022 at 2:28 PM #189882That’s right, everything is sold whether it works or not, and coming back to the topic, it shouldn’t be that the performance of PRT reaches its limits when there are many market participants

Grumpy old man, that’s me alright 😉
Friday I started testing one thing at a time to see if I can come up with something. Went from 6 charts to 5. Only two of the charts has 2 indicators. Same thing.

03/29/2022 at 3:28 PM #190748I just got a trial account at prorealtime.com. I set up that PRT the same way as my IG-sponsored PRT. Same amount of windows, TF etc. Only difference is that data is delayed 15 minutes, but both data streams set up the same way.
IG-PRT uses about 2-4 times as much CPU as “real” PRT.
