PRT IG how to merge Sunday/Monday forex bars?

  Hi everyone,

  Simple question, I have set my timezone in IG Markets-provided Prorealtime v10.3 for currencies on UTC+2 (Athens) so that midnight corresponds to 5pm in UTC-5 (New York) so my daily charts show candlesticks based on 24H price action based on NY session. If I include weekend data on my chart I get a tiny bar for Sunday along side the Monday one. If I don’t, data from Sunday are simply ignored (right?). Is there a way to merge both bars into a single Monday bar? In that case the open price would be the one on Sunday, the close price would not change and high and low prices would be determined using both Sunday and Monday data.

  Hello!

  Yes, I confirm what you have understood about the functioning of the candlestick. On our platform with IG, if you include weekend data, you get a small bar for Sunday. If you do not include the weekend data (by clicking on Options->Platform options->Time zones & Trading hours and unticking the relevant box), the Sunday data will not be included at all in your charts. There is no possibility to merge the Sunday data with the one from Monday. This is so for standardisation purposes, in order to offer the same behaviour as the IG platform.

  On our platform ProRealTime Software, instead, if the option “Display weekend data” is ticked, and you display your charts in an intraday time frame, you will see a small candlestick for the Sunday (from 10pm to 11:59pm). If the option “Display weekend data” is ticked, and you display your charts with a daily time frame, we merge the Sunday data with the Monday data (so you will only see one candlestick for Monday).

  Forex 47. Is there a way to display the Sunday candle on the daily chart while using New York time zone UTC -4.

  I tried “Display weekend data” both ticked and unticked. Still no Sunday candle. I need the Sunday candle for my forex strategy. Please let me know and thank you.
