Anyone know why PRT shows gaps as a solid bar recently? A gap on IG charts shows as a solid bar on PRT charts.
Thanks

There are plenty of examples, best one to look at is Translate Bio (TBIO). Gapped on open last 4 days but looks like no gaps on PRT.
Yes this is on shorter time frames as well.
Thanks

As GraHal said – a screenshot is a much easier example than expecting everyone to head off and try to find your problem on their platforms!

Hopefully it shows what i mean.
Thanks
07/02/2020 at 11:11 PM #138192Hi again
No response to the above example, anyone have any ideas on this? I like to trade gaps so it is annoying when they don’t show on the charts in recent times.
Thanks in advance.
07/02/2020 at 11:47 PM #138195I think because it’s from different markets. One of them is not IG’s CFD, but a maybe a Future or any other different kind of asset/instrument.
That happens with ProRealTime itself, on IG there are no gaps, with PRT’s direct (via IB) despite it’s the same platform.
It’s what the broker deals with that counts!

The thing is though, there are lots of instruments/markets i have found where there have been plenty of gaps shown on PRT in the past but over the past couple of weeks, they are not showing.
07/03/2020 at 9:18 AM #138222PRT provides an Out of Hours Market in lots of instruments and so compared with a Market Hours only provider IG will have far less gaps.
The gaps when A. N. Other provider is compared to IG is more than likely due to price having changed since A.N. Other provider closed their Market and their next Market Open.
Where IG does show gaps it will be due to changes in price which are not contiguous.
Gaps often occur on IG on Sunday opening at 23:00 (UK time) due to changes in price over the weekend. You can see that there will be a gap at 23:00 on Sunday by looking at the IG Weekend Market … link below to DJI Weekend Market below.

07/03/2020 at 9:20 AM #138223but over the past couple of weeks, they are not showing.
Probably due to high volatility prior (due to Covid) and relatively low volatility in the past couple of weeks.

The attached screenshots show the same instrument, a standard stock, with the gap showing on the daily chart on IG, but a full bar in the same place on PRT, and also shows the 5 minute chart on PRT where the gap should be. I was watching at the open aware of where the price would gap to, and saw the full bar appear as soon as the markets open (note the time circled), where it should have been a gap.
This must be a technical issue as it has only started happening recently.
