Hi,
Am trying out v12 again but still have the same issue where it doesn’t display all the variables I have in the algo when I re-opt. Having to revert back to v11 for time being.
Is there a dev item to resolve this please?
Thanks
F

Have you ticked all the boxes (against all variables) after clicking on the wrench in the top left hand corner of the optimiser results table?
Just say if you can’t find the boxes and I’ll do screenshot tomorrow, but I’ve just closed my Platform.
Just for you I opened Platform again and mocked up an opti results table … see yellow arrowhead for the wrench.
GoodNight to All 🙂

I just emailed the ‘Suggestion for Improvement’ below direct to PRT.
Please could an Option Box – Select All or Clear All – be added to the Form / pane shown attached.
Above would mean much reduced clicking of individual values in the list for users.
If you need further information, please contact me.

Good job my email didn’t send!
I have now amended my Suggestion to PRT to …
Please could an Option Box – Select All or Clear All – be added to the Form / pane shown below for Optimisation & Fixed Values only (‘Other’ not to be included in the Option Box for Select All or Clear All)
Above would mean much reduced clicking of individual values in the list for users.

10/08/2024 at 12:20 PM #238706Hi GraHal,
Your email may have send now, but to me your suggestion still would not make sense (to practical operation);
No such thing would exist of removing all values (fixed or not) because nothing would show any more. And mind you, when I choose for at first varying variables, I may fix them, which would certainly not mean I would not want to see them. This is up to me and indeed would imply all the clicking.
But the issue is a different one …PRT is not remembering my choices from one session to the other or whatever is is where the choices reset. So I keep on clicking because I need to re-do that over and over (say once per day but once per day is sufficient not to like it).
And the worst part (already told about more often) : PRT applies some kind of intelligence below zero to make the new choices for me. They are always completely off and I don’t see what it applies (what rules are applied to it).But let’s be honest, it is 100 times better than in V11, where the list in the grid was always containing everything, making all unreadable (with say 40 variables).
This readyly implies where an “all” would never suffice for me. There are just too many of them. So All is nothing to work with, and None is obviously also nothing to work with (so the choice for None is beyond me ?).10/08/2024 at 12:26 PM #238707removing all values (fixed or not) because nothing would show any more.
I didn’t say remove all values.
I aid Select all / Clear All … standard phraseology on a filter box isn’t it, e.g. on excel filters, not the same thing I know.
Anyway I am having trouble with the email address I use for PRT Suggestions so my email has not even gone yet!
I will review further when I come back from the funeral I am rushing off to, so if you wish to rephrase my email I might send your version to PRT! 😉
10/08/2024 at 12:35 PM #23871010/08/2024 at 2:43 PM #238722Yes, that is what I would make of it. Still …
Thinking of my “one code for all Futures” (from last week re the Sets), this would not really work as well for me. I know, PRT was not made for me. 🙂 But anyway I would have a super set out of a subset I would use each time, and again my grid would be too wide to deal with.Maybe offtopic :
I aid Select all / Clear All … standard phraseology on a filter box
To the best of my capabilities I wouldn’t know the difference. I filter out all of it, or nothing; Leads to the same two result sets, though upside down.
… But totally unimportant of course.10/09/2024 at 2:32 PM #238780Update / For Info:
My emails outbox was out of action for 48 hours (due to hijacking) I am glad too as I never sent any of the emails I copied above!
By thinking how I’d like the attached Form / pane to work, I have now settled on a way that suits me just great! So rather than be frustrated I am now pleased … how fickle I am!!! 😀
I will continue to trial for a few days and then if I do not change my method of use I may make a Suggestion to PRT.
