Hi, I never noticed this before but I’m trying to figure out why after I put my Macbook to sleep from the Apple/sleep menu the fans are still racing like crazy even 30 mins and despite  seeing the computer screen go black – which looks like it’s a asleep to me.

Is PRT still drawing resources even though the screen is black and the Macbook is to all intents and purposes asleep? I ask because this only happens when PRT is active (not quit) but as soon as I quit PRT the fans go off after about 30 seconds becuase the computer is asleep.

    Thanks.

Looks like the answer has to be Yes.

What screens did you have open on PRT ?

I’m not a Mac user, but are there any different settings for the sleep mode?

Yes there are timers for how long it is before the computer goes to leep when there is no activity but this is different because I’m deliberately trying to put it to sleep and it’s not responding. It’s also complicated by the fact that I think this Samsung 50″ monitor is also causing issues and not allowing the Macbook to sleep when the lid is closed (but it is allowing it — as long as PRT is not launched — t0 go to sleep from the Apple/Sleep top menu.

    I miss analogue… 😀
