Hi Everyone,
I am trying to display RTH on daily charts and ETH on intraday charts which is pretty standard for US equities trading.
It appears I can only have either RTH or ETH on both timeframes.
If there is no way to do this, is there a code to specify RTH in proscreener?
Thanks
05/16/2021 at 3:40 AM #169778Hi – I am trying to wrap my head around your question; It appears you are correct, BUT I don’t see the downside with ETH on daily charts (although I can imagine something). Would you care to elaborate other than that it is “pretty standard” to show RTH only for daily charts ? (I trade US equities almost exclusively and nothing seems to bother me regarding this).
To avoid misunderstanding, you are working with the International Brokers version of PRT, right ?

Alot if intraday strategy’s are based on the gap scan. And every gap scanner I have come across calculate from yesterday’s RTH close to todays RTH open.
Obviously if we use the ETH close we are going to get vastly different results on the stocks that trade for multiple hours after RTH close.
I want to be watching what all the Americans are watching.
Now I could switch to RTH and scan there but then I’m missing valuable intraday premarket price action data.
I’m using IB trading from Aust.

For the Screener, you can incorporate ETH times (you can work with dates and times in there). How clumsy that would be, I can not tell.
What would be needed most, regarding me, is switching Off ETH on the fly / on command. But this could be a specialty for myself, because it confuses regular trading. For example, it I trade a Future and I also have something like Gevo in my portfolio (and 10 more of those) it my draw my daily gain even negative, while all is only an indication of what is going to happen at RTH (while it is the real truth at the same time for that (ETH) moment).
Please refer to the attachment (22:30 = 1030pm = 4:30pm your time I think). This is what you are seeing, right ? (and is tradeable within those hours you see). If not it requires a settings change.
For PRT Development and your judgment please, Moofty, see second attachment. It could be an idea to filter on the Exchange and the “ETH” versions, if only ETH is to be selected. Currently however, somehow, all shows “ETH” for exchange, only because my PRT settings depict it. This looks odd to me. Thus, also during RTH it shows like that.

05/16/2021 at 12:21 PM #169798On the other platforms you simply right click on a chart and select “show extended hours” or something along those lines.
I am only interested in US time and have PRT setup as such. I’m not trying to display local time on my charts.
I think because we have to restart the platform to change there may be a bit involved for PRT in implementing this change.
I’m still just testing PRT and as much as I am loving other features of the platform this will unfortunately will be a deal breaker for me.
Also I would like to see more order types like stop limit, limit if touched ect through the trader workstation API.
And definitely stop/ stop limit orders in the manual auto quantity order entry feature which is a potentially awesome feature for controlling your risk.

You could consider running the Demo/Paper platform and have the “other” types in there (I would choose the RTH for that).

Of course. I was only explaining the times I see myself over here, so you could recognize the ETH times.

Possibly unimportant, but
- TWS seemingly integrates with PRT (you can trade with the platform you want, and see your order in the other platform in real time – be that RTH or ETH).
- Possibly you mean that limit orders (etc. etc.) don’t show up in TWS ? (I would not know about a lacking, regarding this).
- It can well be so that I don’t know about a feature through the TWS API, although I worked with that myself too. If you only know that the both (PRT and TWS) interact in real time, then it will be a matter of looking for how to do it, OR report a bug; it simply should not be so that something which can be done in TWS (or its API) will not appear in PRT. However, this is different from the ability for using certain order types – like how trailing happens. Thus, the sheer fact that I can program my own trailing (again, it is an example) does not imply that PRT does not apply that trailing … it just will under the hood, but without the visuals.

Manual Auto Quantity ?
Not sure what that is. If this is something TWS offers but PRT does not, can you show a screenshot of that please ? … but I feel I just don’t get what you mean with this one (my bad).05/16/2021 at 1:42 PM #169800Manual Auto Quantity … You wouldn’t be referring to this one, I suppose :
See 1st attachment. The default is 1. But I possess 77.
See second attachment, where the 77 automatically comes forward at hovering the qty field.
Lastly set a Limit somewhere, without further looking at the quantity (3rd attachment).
… Nah, you wouldn’t refer to that …
