I just sent below direct to ProRealTime. I’ll keep you posted on any feedback.
Hello
I find the screen which lists the ‘running Auto-Trading Systems’ is ‘not user friendly’ because there is no way to save a system from that screen.
This means that users have to make sure that a copy of a running system is retained in the Backtesting screen also.
The backtesting screen in itself is not user friendly because there is no ‘file management’ function withing that screen and users end up with big long lists of files. I am sick to death of scrolling up and down the Backtest Screen. I know there is search, but if the file you want does not coem up n the search, it leaves users thinking … have I got that system listed or not … then users end up scrolling up and down.
We have to make up our own way to differentiate between systems we are (only) backtesting and systems we already have auto-trading.
For myself I leave a space at the beginning of the system name if it is autotradng. However this all seems a ‘ham way’ to achieve segregration.
Also I am not the most disciplined of folk (re little file admin tasks) so I frequently find I have systems listed in the Auto Trading screen that I do not have a copy of in my Backtesting screen. This happens over and over so I am sure its not just me!?
So in summary … the Autotrade screen needs a ‘file save function’ (save to PC be fine) and the Backtest screen needs a ‘file management function’ (create folders to put files in).
I hope above makes sense, if not just say.
I hope my suggestions are considered useful.
Rant Over 🙂
Thank You for listening

This is also one thing I’d like to have changed, so at least I have the possibility to include the past equity curve from the starting date.
09/14/2016 at 7:12 PM #13104Yes that makes me mad also (what doesn’t make me mad 🙂
‘Gain reset to zero or NOT’ should be a user selectable option when the system is started again. I will write and tell PRT. Thank you for reminding me Kasper!
Its as if the PRT Techie Elves developing the platform do not trade themselves? They add loads of little ‘bells & whistles’ which are nice to have, but essential features which influence profit remain not included for years even after being told by users!?

I clicked on Reply to your orignal suggestion, are you trying that Kasper? And are you logged in??
I’ve also sent a similar suggestion direct o PRT via my PRT account.

10/28/2016 at 9:59 AM #15659Don’t you just hate it when you demotrade a strategy and you know the % winningtrades are very small, but gain/lss ratio are very proffitabel, and that moment arrive when the profit starts.. and Proorder was shut down with no possiblity to restart it with the tracrecord. Just happende to me on this, http://www.prorealcode.com/prorealtime-trading-strategies/turtletrade-dax-daily-timeframe/
10/29/2016 at 9:22 AM #15694Yes I agree Kasper and there seems to be no consistency to when IG ‘auto-extend the Strategy Expiry Date’ or just shut down all running Strategies because they are Date Expired.
I’m now trying to get into the habit of increasing Expiry Date by 7 days each Saturday until the following Sunday.
As writing this I’ve thought … I’ll try 30 days next time and then it can be a once per month task with a reminder set ‘somewhere’ to go off each day for the last week of each month.
The lack of ‘track record’ after restart is the most frustrating part as you say Kasper … it could easily trick one to allow a good strategy to ‘fall by the wayside’!?
I am making ‘good out of bad’ (bad being IG switched off my strategies!) and forcing myself to re-Backtest all my Strategies and classify them into Groups stored on my PC according to their Gains / Loss ratio (0-1, 1-1.5, 1.5 – 2 etc).
Cheers
