Hi!
My name is Mattias from Sweden, and I have been a passive member of the site since mid-august, but now I thought it was time to introduce myself.
Around 3 years ago I started to get interested in trading. Like many others, it went well in the beginning, but then came a quite big downside. I stopped trading after this, about a year, and then in april (this year) I started again. But this time with a firm determination to always have a good and disciplined risk management. It went quite ok, especially with the mental part. After a couple of months I was almost B/E, a little bit minus.
I always been interested in coding, but it’s not my profession. I was around in the late 80’s and coded demos for the Commodore-64 and the Amiga. I trade with IG, and one day in August I activated ProRealTime. After some tutorials and googling I found this site, and I’ve learned a lot here!
Now I am totally hooked with the algo trading! I haven’t done any manual trading since I started with PRT. At the moment I have 9 algos running, 4 in good green, 2 red and 3 in B/E-ish. All in demo mode though.
So, thanks for everything so far, you are doing a fantastic job! 🙂

Welcome to the forums.
I was a kid writing games on a Commodore 64 too. I left school and went to work for a small company programming indicators for the stock market but gave up after six months because sitting behind a desk turned out not to be my thing. I didn’t code a single thing after that until I found PRT a few years ago.

Thanks for your nice comment about the work we do here, have a good day.
Atari, I had the console! 🙂 Oh yes, the good old days… 🙂 You too.

That’s really nice! I remember coding hour after hour just to be able to break the horizontal borders! (The vertical was much easier). Thanks for the welcome. 🙂
09/29/2020 at 6:58 PM #145885Hahaha so that’s how you coding wizards got started and ended up so good at coding!! 🙂
I recall mates at work trying to get me into it and I always said … “Tell me something useful that I need to do and an Atari or Commodore will do for me!?”
I did get an Atari eventually so my children didn’t feel left out, but I never did do any coding nor play any games!
Now it’s coming back to bite me 🙂 but reading on here and rubbing shoulders with you wizards has provided me with skills to more than just get by … thank you!
