Don’t hesitate to correlate the below two pictures; mind the 19:51 (Amsterdam) time and know that the first pic is IG and the second is IB for several instruments in one account (only one system allowed per instrument). Of course compare with your own happenings and subjective judgment – I only show two rather random pictures.
Comments anyone ?
03/21/2024 at 7:24 AM #230172I’ve been staring at the pictures for 5 minutes now and I don’t know what they mean… I just know that I’ve been long in the SP500 since Tuesday and I’m still holding the position. So I took part in the entire movement last night. 😉
03/21/2024 at 9:08 AM #230180What the pictures mean to bring across :
The first picture is IG, showing no trades at all from of where they should “wildly” – at 19:00 when Powel began is speech. Trades should have gone in and out all over the place, like previously the trades would have tried to enter, but the system immediately would have thrown out because of the by IG set crazy stop distance.
The second picture shows IB for one account, and that indeed trades go in and out wildly, with the notice that with IB one system per instrument can exist, so just less systems run in such an account. Still you can see the activity.
Combining both pictures, you can see that the activity (volatility) stops at ~ 19:51, the time that Powel was finished (I did not track this exactly), IG immediately entering trades again which they should have done all along, once in “volatile mood” which you can see on the chart itself. Thus, with IB now all stops trading because trades are in for these fewer systems (or don’t go in any more with EUR/USD as the leader of the pack). And thus :
At 19:51 whatever IG (with PRT perhaps) cooked this time, was eliminated again (all trades could enter again).
Yesterday was the very first time that no IG systems were thrown out, but it also was the first time that no trade even entered (or attempted to). This can not exist but it did.
PS.: On a closer look, a first trade entered at 19:39. Below the list of trades from IG with the notice that all “Verkoop” are exits, and the “Koop” are Long entries.03/21/2024 at 9:39 AM #230187no trades at all from of where they should “wildly”
Might above be due to the ‘adjust stops box‘ being enabled and so stops were pushed-out away from all the volatility and so trades never exited and so new trades never entered?

That coincidentally something was not working well on an IG server ?As so often nobody else complains. This time not even you. Haha.
