I just noticed that this strategy with weird results in the ProOrder AutoTading window was one that got stopped recently by some problem with IG data that PRT have now told me they have made a work around for. It appears that the history before the stoppage has been forgotten by the ProOrder AutoTading window.
I am re-quoting myself from earlier on as I have just checked and all four strategies that show incorrect total gain are ones that PRT have stopped at some point. I have not checked all the maths but it seems that the ProOrder Autotrading window has forgotten all the trades prior to the stoppages but the equity graph when you click on ‘View Performance’ has not. I guess PRT just need to get the ProOrder AutoTrading window to pick up the same total as the ‘View Performance’ window graph does and all will be fixed.

Hello Maria. I already did this for one strategy (but under ‘Automatic Trading’ not ‘Code’ as I believed that to be more relevant). Pierre has replied in this forum and says that PRT are looking in to the problem. Do you still want me to send reports for all four strategies with the same problem?
The error is definitely that once a strategy is stopped the total gain zero’s in the ‘ProOrder AutoTrading’ window when it is re-started. In the ‘Performance Report’ it remains accurate as it does on the equity curve for the strategy when ‘View Performance’ is selected in the ‘ProOrder AutoTrading’ window. I think this should be simple to fix.
04/16/2018 at 4:28 PM #68510I did not receive an answer to my question in my last post and my ProOrder Autotrading window is still showing inaccurate results for several of the strategies. I have to click on ‘View Performance’ on each strategy so that I can see accurate totals in the equity curve graph which is rather time consuming and tiresome.
This seems like an easy one to fix as the right result is already being calculated and shown in the equity curve chart so just use that same result in the ProOrder Autotrading window – so I am not sure why nothing has happened in two weeks or has it been fixed but I need to wait for the next update?

On the equity performance chart expand it to (x) units and see if there are any black lines on the equity curve. The return shown on the equity curve is the correct overall return since the first time the strategy was ever started but the ProOrder Autotrading window seems to only be showing a total since the strategy was restarted I think.
04/17/2018 at 10:22 AM #68576If I stop a strategy using red STOP in the ProOrder Autotrading window then gain / loss up to that point is preserved (but now you have me thinking??).
If I stop a strategy ‘externally’ using the IG Interface on my PC or the App on my phone then gain / loss up to that point is NOT preserved (deffo).
So which stop start are you referring to below … internal or external?
Can you check that the strategy is one that has been stopped and restarted at some point?
04/17/2018 at 2:06 PM #68582All of my strategies with the problem were stopped by an external force – i.e a data problem between PRT and IG. I restarted them all and the results went to rubbish. As a test I waited for one of them to open and close a trade or two and then stopped it by hitting the red button. When I restarted it it zeroed the total so far in the ProOrder Autotrading window but the equity curve graph in the ‘View Performance’ window continued to show the correct amount.
Maybe as you say it is because an external force has stopped the strategies that starts the problem or maybe it just zeros however we stop it – either way it should be simple for PRT to just pick the correct total up instead of continuing with the zeroed one and so then maybe another thread here could be changed to ‘Resolved’!

I was absolutely certain that I had replied! I wrote it all again while muttering and moaning to myself about senility setting in but now I have a clean bill of health and have been saved from the ageing process thanks to Doctor Nicolas!

04/17/2018 at 3:03 PM #68598Yep you are right Vonasi
It happens very rarely…. now we just need to get someone at PRT to realise it and fix this annoying bug.
