I think it would be great if we had a library for useful snippets of code.
If someone creates a useful piece of code such as a new trailing stop version, an emergency fuse code, a new way of using an indicator in stop loss and take profit calculations etc – or someone just finds a useful bit of code in someone else’s work that they think can be used in other future strategies/indicators then they can post it to the library for others to search for and copy.
This would help newbies to quickly create better strategies without having to ask on the forum (I’m sure that many don’t ask for fear of looking stupid in a public place – all humans fear this!) Even the basics of strategy coding could be there such as SET STOP pLOSS and SET TARGET pPROFIT so that if they search for say ‘Take Profit’ they will get a quick and simple answer to their question along with some more complicated versions for them to consider as they develop their coding skills.

Snippets could be categorized by functionalities like money management, orders management, [PUT YOUR IDEAS HERE! 🙂 ], etc.
Instructions used in snippets should be tagged and linked with our online documentation.
Any ideas are welcome.
I will think of it.

of the same thread? (Pathfinder topic?).

Correct.

Yes I think that maybe under the ‘Help’ section would be more appropriate although people do seem to be naturally reluctant to press the help button. The location is not so important as the fact that it is available! It would be an excellent source to direct people to rather than having to post code repeatedly in the forums when the same question keeps being asked. Over time it should build up to a very handy resource for newbies and old hands alike. I always find it difficult to put things in categories – I always seem to be left with one or two items that don’t seem to fit anywhere and so get put in ‘Other’ and then never get found again! Search tags would be the best way for people to find appropriate content I think.
Sorry Nicolas….. more work for you….. but maybe something that could save some work in the future.

and it redirected me to here again afterwards:
01/20/2018 at 6:40 PM #59966You’re probably already aware but I had to log in today and neither the top right LOG IN button nor the bottom left LOG IN button on a thread page worked. The little LOG IN suggestion on the last post of the thread did work though. I use the Opera browser.
01/20/2018 at 6:42 PM #59968Oh….. and after posting that last post I got redirected to that same CAC40 thread again. I might have to actually read it one day!
01/20/2018 at 7:38 PM #59972The top right LOGIN button in forums is disabled for now. Still searching why you got redirect to a wrong thread after posting (I never had this problem), so I wonder if it’s linked to your account .. Do someone have this problem too?
