Survey: What are the top 5 new features that you would like to see added to ProRealTime?
We probably all have an idea of what features are missing from PRT that we would find really useful if they were added – but everyone’s wish list might be different. So this survey is to try to find out what the top wished for features are.
Please list in order of priority any features that you would like to see added to PRT (1 = the most important addition and 5 = the least important on your wish list).
If you cannot think of five new features then just post the ones that you have.
Note: This is a survey about added features and not about fixing bugs or bits of PRT that you find annoying! Please list new feature ideas only.

Is this … new to the Platform version we use today (see attached) … so ideas / features already suggested in the list on here can be included??
06/29/2018 at 9:02 AM #74708Hi Vonasi, nice this new subject 🙂
I had the opportunity to see yesterday all the new features that will appear in the future version 11 of ProRealTime. I assure you that no one is prepared for so much change! I was really surprised at all the improvements that have been made, thanks to the opinions and various requests from the users of the platform. This proves the importance of communicating and sharing ideas.06/29/2018 at 9:06 AM #74710Is this … new to the Platform version we use today (see attached) … so ideas / features already suggested in the list on here can be included??
It is intended just to be your current wish list. It does not matter if the idea has been suggested before elsewhere or even if it is already in the pipeline to be added. I am just hoping to get a general idea of what is wanted the most by users of the current platform.
Hopefully I will add my top 5 very soon to get the ball rolling…..
06/29/2018 at 9:46 AM #74723My wish list:
- Much more information in the optimization results window and the full results rather than just the top 100. I want to be able to arrange results by maximum draw down, average win, average loss, time on market, time between positions – by everything that is available in the back test results. I would also like to see various strategy test ratios in the results such as drawdown as percentage of gain, CAR and Sharpe etc.
- The ability to easily plot graphs of back test results without having to resort to Excel. Being able to save these charts with notes would be very useful too.
- A warning or alert (preferably to email or a messenger service as well as on screen) when a trade has been orphaned and its status has changed from being controlled by a strategy and is now under manual control with most likely no stops or limits.
- A database of historical spread that can be accessed during a back test so as to get more accurate back test results. Even if this is just a recent history of spread on each hour for the last week it would be better than nothing. It would also be great to have a database of swap rates and Libor rates so that an overnight fees calculation could also be more accurately included in back testing.
- Alerts for position opening and closing to a messenger service such as Skype, Telegram etc rather than just email. Preferably with position size, instrument type, profit/loss etc – as much info as possible.
Obviously partial closure and multi time frame are high on my list but I have not included them as they are in the pipeline and coming soon and it made room for two other ideas.

Because th 5 most important features are likely to be different for almost everyone and 14,000 members could write hundreds of differents post with thousands of different suggestions. So, when someone (maybe a newbie) wants to check about requests or suggestions already posted, does he have to check this post or the above one (or both)?

It is not a duplicate as that is a place to suggest ideas and this is a survey to try to establish which of those ideas are most in demand. If everyone lists unique and individual ideas then it will be clear that we all want something different from PRT but maybe just one or two ideas will be repeated over and over again and we will have a statistical result to present to PRT.
So what are your top 5 wishes in order of priority Robertogozzi?
06/29/2018 at 12:35 PM #74787valide Backtests !
Could you be more specific please! How more valid?
Do you not have more than one thing on your wish list?
06/29/2018 at 12:47 PM #74790I think the point of this thread is being slightly misunderstood.
This is a survey – you are not expected to think of new things that have never been mentioned before and if one of your top 5 wishes has already been mentioned on here in somebody elses list then it does not mean that you cannot mention it again. The whole idea of a survey is to get a view of opinion!
If everyone has in their top five that they would like PRT to put more results data in the optimization window then it will be clear from the survey that this should be a priority for PRT to add. If only one person wants it and no one else does then it should be a low priority for them.
It is a survey – not a list of unique ideas!

06/29/2018 at 1:26 PM #74799- Arrays
- More data history, even in tick-by-tick mode, for backtests
- BarInfo() //should return the BarIndex when an event occured (ie: BarInfo(highest[20](high))
- knowing what instrument a strategy is trading, with spread, value per pip and per contract
- user defined Functions //easier to declare and use and faster to execute than CALL
I did not include MTF support as all of us know it WILL be the future main feature.

5. Done! (part of the v11 update), CALL will be used as a function like if the code of the CALL program is a part of the main one. I discussed about it yesterday with the guy who has developed it at ITF.
