Hi
I had two auto systems running a few instruments on different time frame and they have both stopped – although they are still showing as live and running on the IG web platform.
What does the “Trading System Stopped Because it’s Validity Expired” mean?
Is is that the systems might have been altered by myself when I was doing further backtests on them a fortnight ago – although they were then (after these further backtests) set as back to the originally coded / launched versions? Surely PRT retains the system code when it was launched mid June (as the view link: Code Version in the Pro Order Auto Window shows that they are coded as they were when launched)? Besides I was doing further backtests with slightly different parameters at the end of June and they continued to run fine until a few days ago, when they both stopped?
Any ideas?
Cheers

“If you do not click Extend “before” this date?” Before? This date? ?What is a validity date? I launched two systems on 16th June and both the systems stopped last week. On the demo v10.2 last year the systems ran for many months without stopping or me having to go to Trading Options?
Also where is the “Extend Button” please and does that mean I have to keep extending strategies every 20 days?
Best
Bard07/13/2017 at 10:35 AM #40532You can set 100 days in this option window. The ‘Extend Button” is in each ProOrder strategy, take a look at chapter 7 of this tutorial: https://trading.prorealtime.com/en/create-a-trading-system
07/14/2017 at 1:13 PM #40642Cheers for the tutorial link Nicolas,
I thought the demo used to be for 100 days – it’s now only 20 days max? Does that mean I have to keep extending every 20 days i.e. on the 19th day? (Two strategies both stopped last week after 16th June launch). From Chapter 6 of your tutorial link:
- Position and order status after stop of systems:</b> when a system is stopped, choose if you want ProOrder to close the positions and cancel the pending orders; or keep them to manage them manually.
I have it set it to manually, this is why although both the systems have been stopped due to the 20 day time limit they are still “live” in the IG web platform.
If I re-start my systems will the re-launched strategies then be able to close the existing trades that were taken by the systems before they were stopped by PRT?- Stop due to expiration date:</b> for security reasons, all systems have a common validity date, beyond which they will be stopped. To extend the validity date, click “Extend” in the ProOrder window.? The “Limit of validity” parameter lets you define the number of days of each extension.
Why is it designed to only run for 20 days and so short on the demo? What security issues could there be?
Also, lastly I do no see how to extend the systems for another 20 days when I have them running on PRT. Once the strategies are running (I re-launched them both yesterday) there is only the “view performance” and “view code” in the Pro Order Automated Trading Window?
Thanks again,
Bard07/18/2017 at 1:35 PM #40970The extend button is at the bottom of the ProOrder currently running strategies (picture attached).
If I re-start my systems will the re-launched strategies then be able to close the existing trades that were taken by the systems before they were stopped by PRT?
Never tried, but I don’t think so..
