Us holiday today, I have developed a habit of not trading holidays (markets easily manipulated on holidays) just my opinion. I did have a quick look and Could have added another 15 trades to my total but I decided to stay out today and get back in tomorrow.

Best to set yourself a moderate win / profit for each day and creep up to bigger levels gradually?
Do you set a “black swan’ stop loss? I don’t set a “white swan” 🙂 stop loss when scalping as there often isn’t time, as all eyes and concentration are on price action.
01/18/2023 at 11:11 AM #207605I’m sure I’ll get the 500 but anything can happen with markets as were all aware, I’m starting to get that overconfidence feeling again but I need to remind myself what can happen at any time in any market! The trick is to stay at a low amount per point and allow a wee bit of movement but not too much that it effects the account balance if the market does something out of place on the chart. I will slowly increase the amount per point over time as the account grows. Right now I’m slightly under pressure to get to trade 500 quickly but I know slow and steady wins the race. I think i done just over 50 trades yesterday alone and I really feel like I need a break for a day or so but don’t want to stop now. I won’t be doing 50 trades today, I haven’t even had 1 trade yet, up all night with stomach ulcers and heart burn so really tyred today, i still had to get up to do papers this morning could hardly keep my eyes open! feeling groggy right now but it will pass. I haven’t heard of black swan or white swan stop, I know what the cut off is before I enter and I will cut the trade if it gets to it without hesitation. I have been lucky up until now no stops have been hit. I watch intently every point until I’m out of the trade. I have also put a take profit at 5 pips just encase it hits too quick for me to exit with a profit. If i feel it won’t reach 5 points I’ll just make sure i get any profit even 1 or 2 points.
I feel like a shop keeper sticking small amounts of money in the till all day then tallying it up at end of trading, All the small sums of money mount up quite quickly when trading this amount of trades as an example if you were trading £1 a point for 5 points and doing 50 trades a day that’s £250 a day or 5 days £1250, not to bad for £1 a point clicking a mouse and at just £1 a point you won’t be breaking the bank. At £5 a point 25 x 50 = £1250 a day or £6250 a week sounds a bit better but got to keep an eye on margins etc.
01/18/2023 at 11:35 AM #207608up all night with stomach ulcers
You sure you not got H. pylori (google it)?
Or maybe you have a Hiatus Hernia? My son-in-law recently been diagnosed with hiatus hernia and he wakes up in the night (after booze, spicy food etc etc) with acid reflux.Either way you need to get to the bottom of why you got stomach ulcers?
I’m sure I had ulcers years ago and over many years … used to wake up in the night with intense pain due to acid irritating / buring the ulcer! If I drank milk and ate a piece of bread then pain went almost immediately, I used to keep a glass of milk and bread in a plastic bag by side of bed. Yours anything like that??
Anyway, either way, you should get some of below, I take a level teaspoonful each night on my tongue with a few swallows of water (dont get vit c on your teeth!) before bed. It was only fairly recently that I thought, hey I’ve not had those ulcer type pain attacks for many years … I wonder if the vitamin C got anything to do with it? I googled it and vit c kills H.pylori bacteria!

01/18/2023 at 12:57 PM #207612Yes I have had bother with ulcers for many years (since 14 years old or there about) suffered until I was 17 before getting a camera down my throat, doctor said it was really bad Duodenal ulcers. Since then I have been on tagamet, losec, zantag and now omoprazole. I have had 3 courses of strong antibiotics etc which usually cure it for most but not me for whatever reason. I have tried lots of things and tried to pinpoint certain foods and drinks etc that usually upset my stomach. cheese, spices, curries, gravy, sauces, and the list goes on and on, I wouldn’t be able to eat anything if I kept adding to the list! Yesterday was tinned stewing steak, potatoes and peas and I had it about 3 in the afternoon thinking it will go down a bit before I lye down. 1 hour after lying down it started coming back as acid in my throat, heart burn, pains in chest, had to prop the pillows up then the sore stomach came on, my insides were on fire! I had been up since 3am so really needed to sleep but No chance of sleeping through that! I ended up taking an omeprazole tablet I found in a drawer and I new it would be a few hours before I got any relief. As it happened I just got to sleep and the alarm went off and I had to get up. Doctors at a premium here there is no chance of seeing one unless your dying! been like this since start of covid. Hospitals here are the same you can go there but 24 hours before your seen and you have the chance of catching other troubles off other sick people while your there.
I’ll rest my stomach today and go easy on it the rest of the week, I don’t drink at all apart from water that is. Milk is not good for my condition either I have been told or fresh orange juice and things of that nature. Doing great really I am LOL
Thanks for the link and comments much appreciated!
I’ll bounce back I always do!
01/18/2023 at 2:04 PM #207620Check my profile for a way to get in touch about off-topic chat else Roberto will be deleting us! 🙂 If you get the vit c, try 1/4 teaspoonful first, then 1/2 to ensure vit c does not aggravate your ulcers.
Stewing steak / red meat needs plenty of stomach acid to digest / break up the meat … hence why your ulcers flared up?
Might it also be that the stress / tension of trying to hit 500 trades has made your ulcers worse?
When you get to 400, the point will be more than made. In any case, you should take a few days off … no point in making your life a misery!

01/18/2023 at 4:35 PM #207630Its not the trading that’s stressful its the papers, we have to deal with an incompetent company who are the first link of the chain, when they mess up our delivery we have to explain to our 800 customers why the kids couldn’t get there papers to them before school, a lot goes into running a business the phone never stops ringing, its a 24 hour 7 day week. unfortunately its only us to deal with everything we don’t make enough off it to hire anyone else to give ourselves a break! hence me back at the trading again, I need to prove consistency to myself before I can let someone else a bit younger and fitter than us to take it over. Just now we don’t have any other options so I have to succeed at this or do papers until I drop. Not a good prospect! I’d much prefer trading! I was going to set another challenge which was same as I’m doing now but a different market but just go for 100 trades with 100% but I’ll leave that to someone else. Interesting to see how that would have went. I’ll look forward to completing the 500, its set it my mind and I thought it impossible but I’m starting to change my mind maybe it is possible. I took a break today, I had 2 hours sleep but don’t feel like jumping in the market at this time so I’ll get back on it tomorrow and see how it plays out.
01/18/2023 at 4:56 PM #207637a different market but just go for 100 trades with 100%
Maybe you should draw a line under the 500 trades as target met as you have proved you can do it.
You likely learn more / benefit more by doing a different market over 100 trades than doing another 100+ on existing?
Or get to 400 on existing and then do the last 100 on a different market?
01/18/2023 at 5:12 PM #207642No, I’ve had enough of the challenges after 500 has been met on this market LOL
It would be nice to see others doing 100 to see how they get on though its good to challenge oneself to see how far your limits are, at least I think others know what’s achievable now they might gain confidence instead of giving up trading but do it on demo mode first unless you know you have confidence in your abilities, that would be my advice! I’ve been trading for a good few years so I know what to expect with my own trades.
No more challenges for me after this, the challenge I will have is to continue trading for a living and that is enough
01/18/2023 at 6:14 PM #207643enough of the challenges after 500
Maybe you read my last post wrong? The total would still be 500, but the last 100 could be on a different market?
It was just an idea anyway. You’re doing great! I doubt anybody on here could emulate your excellent performance?
