    That security issue is total BS. I wonder how every other co. in the world copes with this problem…..:-) I hate it when organisations hide behind this excuse when what they really mean is  “We can’t be bothered to update/code our software and process to address this”. I hate being patronised (I have a brain and can work out what you really mean), just tell me you don’t want to do it and it’s not a priority then fair enough, at least I’ll respect you for being honest. Seems like senior management are indeed a bunch of dinosaurs…..:-)

    Another of my gripes with IG from way back was that their Query Log System didn’t work. Even after they said it was working now, it didn’t and after weeks / months I stopped checking / looking!

    Buuutttt I just looked for first time in near 12 months maybe … check out the attachment … this is my Query Log and there 2 more pages worth also!  What a busy moaner I have been!!!! 🙂

    You access it via Help and Support / My Queries in case you don’t know??

    Hi guys, I’m back, sorry for the long silence being away

    one trade today: Backtest = 9.10 point, Autotrade = 2.50 point down 72%    !!!!!!!!!!!!   see the 2 pages attached

    like you I did ask them several times/years to put the initial request at the bottom of their PRT mail but never get it, I finally think it is on purpose

    as you say wouldn’t cost to get original request sent or attached

    they don’t care about people clients, they care only about company clients

    Hi JL, re Auto-Trading results … is this on Demo or Live?

    Re Backtest … what spread did you have set in the backtest engine?

    Not good it it! Will you be sending the screen shots to  PRT? May as well now you have them saved etc?

    this is live / real trading and backtest is with the same spread as reality and with tick by tick mode

    and beleive me I’ve many year on PRT, CFD and s/w development, I’ve checked everything many times

    I’ve sent that many times to PRT always the same answer “WE CAN’T WORK ON IT WITHOUT YOUR CODE” they just denie the issue and don’t care about it

    I gave the part of the code that pass the orders (buy, sell, exitshort, … lines which is simple in my case) which is EXACTLY 100% the same in backtest and autotrading, they rejected that like if the indicateur calculation could explain the CFD slippage !!!!!!!!

    the reality is it takes them most of the time many seconds to pass the order (of one contract of 1 point/€) to IG and then to execute the order

    no, I don’t use CALL instruction to avoid troubles
    code and conditions are simple indicateur calculations

    Perhaps nothing to deal with, but, do you test if the Close is above the sell stop level before launching the conditional pending order?

    Does your indicator(s) calculation involve FOR/NEXT loop(s)?

    I do not and I will test if Close is above the sell stop level

    BUT

    • why would it be different between PorOrder and Backtest?
    • isn’t it supposed to become an AT MARKET order?

    I do not use any loop or other fancy/ dangerous instruction, it is very few simple scalculation and again why would it be different between ProOrder and Backtest?

    The main issue sounds to be slippage, PRT know my account number and ALL transactions are recorded so with what I provide they can EASILY analyse those transactions and see if they loose time in PRT process, in transmitting the instruction to IG or if it is IG being late by many and costly seconds

    the issue is they dont do that and persist telling “you must give your codes” without ever providing any confidentiality comitment

    Same comment as in the French forum. You have the benefit to get valuable suggestions from the PRT team, but you continue to ignore them. Do as you want, I can’t help much more here, since I’m not a PRT employee myself 😐

    nobody ask you to waste your time on this, it is PRT to IG internal issues, I don’t see what you can do to improve

    JL, have you considered what your next step would be if it could be proven that your problem is due to slippage? I guess you would open an account elsewhere?

    Why not do this now – while still leaving PRT / IG Account Live – then you have a chance to check out if other brokers and platforms are any better … without ‘burning your bridges’?

    Thanks for the suggestion

    I know I’ll have soon or later to move away from PRT, even Nicolas says so, but it represent some work to migrate

    I see OANDA accept MultiCharts API which is very good, that one allows for multi time units and multi supports in one indicator or one strategy/code which PRT never answer my 3 or 4 years ago question about that, it allows also the baronclose order acting at the end of the current bar not available with PRT

    Do you already have an account there and experienced trading?

    A friend of mine is doing huge volume, one of the top on Euronext, he knows all serious brokers and is trading only with Interactiv Broker

    I’ll figure that out during the summer and will let you know

    please keep me aware of what you do
