I am just about to withdraw all my funds from my IG account that I have PRT Complete via and transfer them to my new PRT sponsored IG account that has PRT Premium. I have only one trade this month at the moment on the former account and so technically if I do no more trades this month I should have to pay a fee to PRT – but obviously there will be no funds in the account to take this from. I plan to switch off access to PRT in the Complete account once the funds are moved out.
So my question is will I be liable for a fee on the account even though I am no longer using it?
It would be a pain to have to try to manage two accounts and ensure adequate funds in each and enough trades done in each. As it is it is a very slow process as IG take three days to withdraw money!
02/06/2018 at 5:52 PM #6174802/06/2018 at 6:43 PM #61757I advise to also disable the ProRealTime chart option within your account management. Concerning the monthly fee please contact IG as it is them handling this matter.
As soon as I have removed the funds I will de-activate PRT and then re-activate it on the PRT sponsored IG account. I will contact IG but from previous experience I fear that I may get ten different answers from ten different people!
03/07/2018 at 12:31 PM #64664Hi vonasi, I hope you were lucky and could manage the transition quickly.
Your post light a bulb in my head: what’s the difference between “PRT provided by IG” and a “IG sponsored PRT account”? I can understand for sure there’s a difference in the PRT version (from complete to premium, right?) but what else? who is the provider? costs?
thank you!!

03/08/2018 at 3:38 PM #64814Thanks for your reply Ulrike. I did write a reply to Barbagio myself but must have forgotten to click submit so it is not here!
I notice that I now seem to be forced to have a stop loss with every manually opened trade and I don’t recall this being the case when using PRT Complete with my IG account before changing to Premium. Maybe I am missing a setting or am I correct that I have to have a stop now that my account is IG sponsored by PRT?
03/08/2018 at 5:59 PM #64825@Vonasi: Might it be possible that your new account has the status of a “Limited Risk account”. With this type of account it is indeed mandatory to place a stop together with the order which will open the position. I advise to check with IG your account status.
03/08/2018 at 6:28 PM #64832Premium version at no extra cost with up to 4 times more historical data
There must be some extra cost incurred somewhere else we may as well all be on this better sounding deal ??
How does getting the Premium version save 67 €* per month?
So I would be 67 € better off if I get the Premium version rather than the Complete version??
Off the Link above / PRT website …
Get the Premium version at no extra cost and save 67 €* per month.
* Price difference between cost of the Premium version and the Complete version on the ProRealTime website.
03/08/2018 at 10:08 PM #64856GraHal….. it is a simple business decision for PRT. They would love to sell you the Premium version for full price but that may never happen so their second best option is that they give it to you for free but take a bit of the IG broker action as payment. Third option is that they give you a cut back version of PRT for free with your IG account and hope that you like it so much that you upgrade. Or you can have an end of the day version just as a teaser in the hope of getting your business once you decide you like it. Tasters are always free but if you want to buy a whole bottle then you have to give the seller something. The better the stuff in the bottle the more there has to be in the deal for the seller.
Thanks for your answer Ulrike regarding the limited risk account. I will check with IG.
