is there a way to look under the hood and see how much memory PRT is using
Gp Help > Help Center > I’m having a Problem > Automatic Trading and you should see the RAM you are using.
I think above is the sequence, but if not then it’s something like above.

02/03/2022 at 11:26 PM #187493Are you using custom indicators?
Lets put it this way, PRT runs a lot better without Ehler’s MESA! 😮😂 Correct as always, thanks @Nicolas.

Yesterday I took the MESA off and saved it to it’s own template and now the charting operates smoothly like I remember it used to, although I’m still not sure why some days in the last fortnight, I didn’t have lags using MESA with PRt?
I didn’t “Defparam Calculate on last bars” because I was doing so much backtesting when I first loaded them. years ago, (and then slowly added lots of other indicators to the template which is why I guess we’re having this conversation!) but I gather the “Call” command is also causing problems and can be re-coded? They are a excellent set of indicators that will help any trader to gain further understanding of dominant market cycle lengths.

This is not after many hours usage due to RAM hogging / leakage etc, this is as soon as I boot-up PRT Platform.
It may be on Demo only as I’ve not been using Live much in the last few days.

Hi @PeteSt, no I haven’t done any for a while.
If you don’t do a thing with that, then I myself don’t recognize that anything gets more and more slow. N.b.: My platforms are always running until they kill themselves (which is 18 hours in a row).
But beware the backtesting. So (indeed) with backtesting avoid the Indicators (any) and also avoid Graphs as much as possible. It is there where the memory leaks occur. The largest issue is the Editor. You can use it, as long as you don’t type too much in it. As soon as it starts to stutter in there, restart PRT …
02/16/2022 at 2:58 PM #188354Hello, in such cases the best way to try and fix this is contacting ProRealTime’s support team by sending them a technical report (Help > Technical support) because this could be due to many different factors.

03/25/2022 at 6:35 PM #190501One thing I have noticed is that by changing my broadband to fibre (6Mbps to 62Mbps), the platform response time for things like moving or resizing charts or increasing the height of an indicator panel has greatly increased and these tasks are now smooth and seamless 🙂

07/12/2022 at 9:06 AM #197166Hi there, is anyone having any slow platforms issues today? Yesterday is was fast now it’s unresponsive and I have had to force quit and restart the Macbook but it’s super slow and really slowing up the whole computer? I was on Push Comfort Datastream but am now trying the standard lower setting and it’s made a difference in speeding things up again back to (almost normal), but it wasn’t set to that yesterday or before and I wonder what is the implication of using the lowest Data setting in terms of quote speed?
Cheers!
07/14/2022 at 12:50 PM #197270Also: Is my memory meant to be increasing whilst using PRT?
I started with the set standard template less than an hour ago and it was using about 1gb of memory according to Apple Activity Monitor. I changed it to another template with more indicators and it got to about 2gb, then I changed it to the set template which is far lighter and only has two charts but the memory didn’t go back down to 1gb? When I loaded a heavy template including custom indicators (still the same PRRT user session without quitting) it went to about 4gb, however since using that memory has climbed to a massive 5.8gb? Do you know why is it going up @Nicolas?
Cheers!
