I am struggling to understand the concept of templates being new to PRT. For example I have two main charts lets say WTI and Brent (One is the real main chart). As I am watching the two main charts I often open up new chart with same instruments but with different indicators and possibly different time frames. My question is if I load a new chart for say Brent it will take the layout of the main chart. So how do I automatically load a new chart with a pre-saved layout. \Or how do I load a pre-saved layout?

    Hope that makes sense.

Click the spanner icon top left of the char window.

Make the changes to your configuration – click [Set as default configuration for this indicator].
Now all the charts you open will be based on this layout/configuration.

Select “Save configuration” when you close PRT so your template will be saved.

Ok that’s great Thanks. So existing charts that I want to use with the new layout, I have to delete and reload and they will take the new layout based on the “Main chart”? It does seem very long winded way of loading a pre-saved layout as and when you want it?

No you only need to this changes once.
You only open 1 chart. Change it to your liking. Save the configuration. Close PRT – save config on exit.
The next time you open PRT any new chart will have the same properties.

There is option to create multiple templates.
To make another template that will differ from the one you have you close all aother charts and configure a chart but this time with s different layout.
From the Menu – file – save as. Now save this template with a different name.
    Save on exit.

Now the next time yuou open PRT you will see from the Menu – file – your 2 templates are there.
Now you just select which temaplate/layout you want to work on or switch between them.
